I will try and stop, however it's total frustration after watching ODU in the good days and now little improvement in 7 years. Also, great home schedule with D-3, Meac and CAA. I have given too much money to the ODAF, to watch this crap.

Yes, BlueLight, I do think before I post, which is why I'm going to reply to your post about recruiting:

A) You said JJ can't/won't recruit HS players. I gave you several examples of HSers who play for ODU. Maybe you meant to say something about 4* or 5* players, but I don't believe you made that distinction, and I can't read your mind.

B) If the only players JJ was bringing in were JUCOs, you would complain that all he can get are JUCOs and not HSers

C) If all he brought in were transfers, you would complain that he can't recruit HSers or JUCOs; in other words, whatever he did or didn't do you would gripe about

D) The 3 incoming guards may be unknown to you, but Irmo Essien is a 3* who scored than 1500 points in HS. Jadin Johnson is also a 3*. Stines, from Baltimore, is a 2*. Now I admit I don't put much stock in this star system once you get past the 5s and 4s, but the incoming kids are not "unknown."

E) FWIW, I'm not happy with where the program is and it won't bother me a bit if ODU changes coaches. I just don't think that's going to happen without a revised evaluation of where athletics stands in the university hierarchy, and I'm betting the new prez has much bigger fish to fry before getting down to firing coaches -- in any sport.

If JJ get's a 3 star, then he is really not that good. Other coaches talk about JJ deficits and nobody with any superior talent would come hear.

LOL so you think midmajors should be STOCKED with 4 & 5 stars?

Im not reading through all of this but our recruiting now is as bad as its even been in the over 25 years ive been following odu basketball (ill be 40 this month and started really paying attention in high school).

This isnt even arguable, in the 90’s we had multiple players drafted to the nba and guys like hodge and sessoms who didnt but were immensely talented. Blaines years saw less nba guys but more euro talent like loughton and lee.

There isnt a single player recruited by JJ who could sniff any of those guys jock straps. The best player hes had was freeman and he was already transferring here from campbell. And the second and third best players were the Stith brothers who only transferred for their dad.

Jj has been an absolute failure on the recruiting front and this isn’t remotely debatable
