Conf strength and the eye test
Get ready to hear those talked about to no end for the next month. Kentucky, Duke, and Michigan State should be nowhere close to the tournament, but the "experts" will start up the excuses of how tough the SEC, ACC, and B10 are as well as how good those teams look losing every game.

I don't know... Kentucky is currently 5-11. There is NO WAY they would get into the tournament unless they win the SEC tournament.

There's no way that the coaches at LSU or Arizona should be coaching right now either.

This follows with the COVID bowl selections we saw.

Large conferences are even more favored than usual.

KY next 3 are at home vs Tenn, Arkansas & Auburn. If they win even 2 of those 3, watch the media lovefest. Just saying.

Big if. They're 5-11. They suck.

As long as the 2nd team out the AAC is Memphis I don't care who else makes it.

But right now I would let SMU in ahead of us. We have work to do.

I would love to argue against AAC...But right now Duke has 6 losses (Everyone else has 6 or less) and we have 6 losses...Gotta let it play out.

Looks like Duke has 9 games left (Not sure about their makeup games)...If they end up 12-10 they shouldn't sniff the tourney.

They’ll have to win out to finish with a winning record. The CBI welcomes losers, so I suppose they have a shot at that.

When we don't play great we completely suck, Penny sucks and the players sucks, but IF 5-11 Kentucky is 7-12, the media will love them. You come up with these wild over the top reactions to everything. 7-12...love from the media? Seriously?

We'll mark you down as not having seen ESPN hype overrated P5 teams the last 10-15-20 college football and basketball seasons.

Different season. The media has actually gone after Cal pretty good this year.

First they are ranked ahead of us in all metrics outside of Kenpom...

They have less losses

4-3 in quad 1/2 games vs. our 3-5

Only 1 bad loss Vs. our 3

But hey...Don't look anything up...Just react.

Right now we would have to argue that we didn't have Deandre to clearly win this argument.

I will give Cal credit though...

He knew before this season started that they wouldn't be very good.
