It's long been a stated goal of the program to snare a coach whose high water mark has been 10 or more tackles in a spring game.

When you think of Bill Belichick and Nick Saban, we think of their illustrious playing careers.

Quote: Irokansi came to Texas State after serving the 2017 spring as a defensive quality control coach at Eastern Illinois. He worked with the defensive line which tallied 10 sacks and helped the defense win the spring game, 37-20.

That’s on me for not reading the Texas State link. But I didn’t read it because he’s been at other stops since.

The guy is coming here from Oklahoma State where he served as a prospect analyst. Before that he was a grad assistant at Ole Miss. So we can’t really claim a bio written in the summer of 2017 is a great barometer of who we hired now, can we?

Fair enough. Wanna show me his accolades from those schools?

He was an integral part of a staff that led Oklahoma State to an 8-3 record last season and beat the University of Miami in the Cheez-It Bowl, finishing the season ranked #20 in the AP, their best finish since 2017.

There you go. Does that work for the bio?

Link?

Dejaré de jugar. Eres un buen tipo y estoy siendo un pendejo a propósito.

Para mí, esto es ... no una contratación desesperada, pero está lejos de ser estelar. Aparte de su biografía de TX State, el no existe.

Are we really whining about a coach we know nothing about?
