Razorback fans are so salty about everything and I think it is hilarious. I recently moved to NE Arkansas and I crack up listening to hog fans talk trash about A-State because they have been the better team and they just can't admit it.
How you liking NE Arkansas? Ozarks have been a dream of mine even though I've never been anywhere near the place.
There's a fairly decent chance Arkansas will lose that game. I've got no skin in the game but that is one I would watch
I’ve enjoyed it so far. It reminds me of living in Southern Alabama just without being close to the beach.
My grandparents lived in Little Rock for a couple of years. Always said it was their favorite place to live, and they moved a lot. Trying to figure out how I could move to Ozarks. My career revolves around being a data analyst, and I get the feeling that's not exactly where you'd want to be if you're wanting to stay an analyst. Looking into moving to the salesforce side of things which has more WFH opportunities than other professions. I know they now have a $10,000 grant for those who WFH to move to the Ozarks. Cheap land, more privacy and far away from Atlanta. Works for me.
Acxiom in Conway would get you close . . .

I’d give my left nut for a neutral site game with UGA in Atlanta

Here's the P5 teams that have scheduled games with in-state Sun Belt teams:
Georgia Tech
Wake Forest
UNC
Arkansas
Those are the ones you'd think would be the most reluctant to schedule those games, but there it is.

You'd be surprised. NWA (Fayetteville/Springdale/Rogers/Bentonville) is booming. The two counties up there have over 520k in population and some have projected it to be up around 1 million in 30 years. Wal-Mart has really boosted the area, requiring every company they carry a product from to have a local office there. There's still a lot of rural area there with mountains and lakes. I don't go up there much, but it is very pretty.
i'm going to do a long weekend mountain biking trip in Bentonville next year.
can't wait. Crazy that its become a destination.

I’d play 4 for 1s with Auburn if they’d do it haha.

State has tried to force this game before, it always gets voted down overwhelmingly in the legislature.
This is a combination of as MJS Mentioned, Arkansas having a terrible contract with War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, that it feels the need to maintain to pacify fans in the Central and Southern parts of the state, and Arkansas hiring an AD in Hunter Yurachek who was at Coastal Carolina and Houston and has seen first hand how much G5 schools struggle to get those games.
His time at Coastal gave him the ability to meet Mohajir, and they struck up a friendship. He was their first AD to acknowledge our existence in like 40 years, and was quick to end much of the scheduling policy that Frank Broyles put in place.
There's also an entire point behind Little Rock beating them in baseball a couple years ago and then Arkansas still turning around and making the College World Series. It sort of forced their fan base to realize the Sun will still come up the next morning, and their fans aren't going to abandon them. Something Broyles trained them to believe for years.

For South, I don’t have that same desire and fire to play one of the instate P5 schools. Probably because we are closer to LSU then we are Auburn and closer to FSU then we are to Alabama. Obviously playing them would be a lot of fun, just not something I see a real heated desire for. Maybe we just aren’t old enough yet.

For those curious, the 10K tickets we will get for this game will be given out as part of a point system. First priority will go to Season ticket Holders who buy tickets for 2021 and keep them from the next 4 years. The goal, as one can imagine, will be to keep Piglet fans from sneaking in through our allotment.

It is also to help boost your season ticket sales for the next 4 years.

Troy and Auburn are only separated by 73.7 miles. Even if it’s an away game, it’s real easy travel for Troy fans. It’s kind of how Alabama St. brings a crowd whenever they play in Troy.
By the way, Mobile to Auburn is only about 20 miles longer than Mobile to Baton Rouge.

Just to refresh everyone's memory, we didn't just beat them. We took them to the woodshed 17-7. Of course, like you mentioned, it hasn't changed the trajectory of either program.

I'm still waiting on the day that Auburn invites Troy to play a game or two. We don't even need that much money, we just want the game.
It'll never happen. That's like expecting Troy to schedule Jacksonville State one day.
If Troy would follow Arkansas' lead and do a neutral site, it might happen. If JSU would agree to go to Troy the game would have already happened.
Dont see JSU agreeing to go to Troy anytime soon unless Troy come to JSU (thats not happening).
Big story on Ark v ASU game, it not in Fayetteville.
Auburn game, dont expect a game soon. JSU cant get another game with Auburn. After our close game, Auburn isnt interested anymore.

We've played Alabama recently, and I assure you, it wasn't a lot of fun.

Yes, unlike the pigs, Alabama has a real SEC caliber team that wins national championships.

TXST has gone to A&M a couple times (once as an FBS program), currently have a 2 and 1 with Baylor, and a road game coming up with Texas soon. We have also had a h/h with Texas Tech. We also played a road game at TCU.

There are still some stubborn P5s out there but it’s good to see more and more are coming around to it now that the precedent has been set.
“Game vs in-state program that’ll sell out your stadium” > “game at random P5 1,000 miles away”

If we never played UGA again, it would still be too many. I'd much rather play Georgia Tech every 4 years.
