Per Twitter,

Sounds like Noski LaFleur suffered an injury of some sort.

What about before then? CC wasted Roback’s career with his rotation.

roback played in 34 games in his last three years - he got his reps.

I think he is referring to the Reggie Bell Jr experiment.

Okay. I wasn't going that far back.

I think we need to be careful when we discuss this. I'm going back into my memory bank.

2015: I believe C.C. sat Roback the first game, might have been 'team rules.'

Later he missed time after he got creamed by WMU (at Rynearson). Someone told me (might have been a PM or someone inside the Convo) but his injury was obvious and he sat out a game.

There was one other game for which I don't know why Roback didn't start.

Weigers and Glass.

I haven't seen anything about a future school for any of the guys that transferred out of EMU. I'll guess that many of them end up at division 2 or lower schools.

Seems like a solid kid. I believe he had a catch or two in the spring game.

(02-27-2021 07:50 AM)Sellers dweller Wrote:  This whole QB situation is going to be one of the more interesting things to follow. Based on the WMU game from two years ago and a "whole" season of starting, I've been really impressed with Hutchinson, have no worries about him as the starting QB, and think he can be all-MAC. Behind him you have May (who I think will be the next great EMU QB), bringing in Smith, and at the time still had Steibeling and Grissom (who was listed as a QB). So while you always want to add talent to your roster, you won't think the coaching staff would spend a ton of effort into finding a new QB. Enter Ben Bryant.

Ben was a pretty highly recruited guy (really highly by EMU standards) and was the backup on a top 10 team behind a guy that might play in the NFL. So you'd think the staff probably had to pursue him pretty hard. After reading about him it sounds like he would (hopefully) be a better version of Hutchinson.

I just hope there were no promises made or anything like that and the best guy plays. Hopefully it is a great competition and brings out the best in all these guys! If Bryant is the best guy, absolutely play him no questions asked. I just hope this isn't a thing of "big time transfer from a big time team, big time recruit we gotta play him."

Speaking of....

https://athlonsports.com/college-footbal...-rise-2021

You and I agree on all of this.

We have a very, very deep quartet of QBs, with varying degrees of experience.

As you indicate, Hutch has all-MAC potential (he has his best days ahead of him), and a very capable sub, Bryant, who is also good enough to start.

I always loved May's tape. If he was bigger he'd be a P5 QB.

Smith is a good prospect, but I know little about him.

ON PAPER, everyone gets to play IN TIME. What I mean is that the QB's eligibility really spread out from redshirt senior (with bonus year) to true frosh.

FWIW, this is my QB post from 10 months ago... 03-idea

I really liked Seller dweller's comments. Very well thought out and complete. Lot of good info and really addresses the issue of the NUMBER of QBs, including a couple who had left the program for elsewhere.

I like his comments on May whom I really like off his tape. Think ETough and I were PM about him. I think we looked at his Hudl highlights.
