The Rockets know how to play in winning time! They did an excellent job of closing out the game the last 10 minutes after Akron tied it.

We play five of our remaining eight games against teams we’ve beaten. Two against a suddenly depleted and sinking Ball State team and one on the road against what looks like a mediocre Buffalo team, but they always scare me. Miami, the best of the teams remaining, we get at home. No reason we CAN’T win out. The old west teams are awful and that’s five games. Win those and we’re at 16 wins. Then home wins against two teams we beat on the road. And Buffalo.

The difference between this team and past good Coach K teams is the way we keep the pedal down. If a team gets a run we don’t collapse. Someone always steps up. Tonight it was Milner and to an extent Saunders who is playing consistently well. We had just enough guard foulss to keep pressure on Jackson.

Conf tournament seems like a bad idea. Which probably means the Mac will try to pull it off, and let this officiating crew from tonight do the championship game.

Great win by the Rockets. What makes this team different (and special) than past Rocket teams besides their tremendous offensive balance and team chemistry is their mental toughness. When Akron came back from 14 points down in the second half with M Jackson in foul trouble, instead of buckling under the pressure, they withstood the Zips run and answered with a run of their own. While it was S. Littleson two threes that jumped started their late run, it was a total team effort on both ends of the court to finish out the game. I think they learned a hard lesson in their overtime loss at Akron and since that game they have finished games strong which has led to their current 5 game winning streak. Now it’s on to Muncie for a noon national televised game against a struggling Ball St team. This is a perfect time for some type of let down by Toledo as they are coming off two very emotional wins over BG and Akron. But one consistent thing this team has shown this entire season, especially since MAC play began, is they come ready to play each game. If they show up mentally, which all past indications are that they will, they have the firepower to come out of Muncie with a victory. But tell that to Akron who didn’t show up to play (mentally) for 2 games earlier this season against bottom dwellers Eastern Michigan and Northern Illinois which might cost them the MAC Regular season title. I think Toledo’s senior leadership from Jackson and Littleson will prevent that from happening!

Don't you think by now, the MAC is pushing for these calls to be made. Like anything else, they will have to revise this rule after the season and give the benefit of the doubt to the player.

they are both horrible. normandie obviously has a fear of being on camera or public speaking as she is clearly very nervous when trying to speak. she does not seem to listen to the responses just charge into her next poorly conceived question. rogers is only better in that she is not as obviously nervous. she cannot complete a sentence clearly without mis-speaking. neither show any knowledge of basketball. and no one should get offended RocketFanatic. it is what it is. if the pg couldn't dribble you wouldn't be offensive saying it. not sure how they were hired, I guess the qualifications were for tall thin pretty young blonds who can't speak very well and don't know anything about basketball. I will say our play by play and color guys are a lot better than most on MAC espn+ type telecasts. the miami guys couldn't tell saunders from milner from rollins and acunzo and shumate were often reversed as well.

Rogers is only 24. Berl's a junior at UT. I think Rogers did a fine job for the UT broadcasts and even better in the local broadcasts. Personable. Good voice for radio/tv. Seems to take time to know who she is interviewing and ask original questions specific to that person or what they accomplished.

Maybe with ONE or TWO exceptions, EVERYONE knows that sideline gig is nothing more than a social greeting, not an in-depth interview. There's only so much a sideline reporter can do, particularly with a can't be bothered azz-hat like Coach K. Berl is a learning UT student. Coach could do his bit to treat her as such and show a little tact.

If Berl is a student studying broadcasting, the best TK or any other interview subject could do for her is to treat her like any other member of the media. The sooner she learns the importance of having a thick skin, and how to deal with reluctant or distracted interviewees, the better it will be for her career.
