A new one should be coming out tomorrow.

I think Dukester part of that is without her, other people have had to step up - ala Hazell and Carodine and even Maddy Green. She deserves huge props for continuing to work hard after basically being benched. She still gotta take care of the ball but she played really well this weekend. Peytons one of our better defenders and obviously a legit scoring threat.

I hope this weekend showed the team what it truly takes to win...grit, defense, rebounding. The scoring will come, those other three intangibles have to get better.

I also thinking the CAA Tournament will surprise us fans as we aren’t playing back to back games against the same team. Being able to beat a Charleston and not having to turn around and play them again will benefit us. I hate that schedule and has really proven to be a scheduling nightmare for covid issues than just playing a regular tuesday/saturday or whatever combo of days. Just my opinion.

It's "possible" we receive votes this year. They have a lot of teams getting votes in the poll, just no one from the CAA. Have to think we are a step behind NE in getting noticed. New poll for men comes out today.

interesting RPI has

Women's CAA conference at #8
Men's CAA conference at #19

I still think of the Men's CAA as better than that, but I guess that is no longer the case.

They are projecting us to get a 15 or 16 seed.

A bit depressing - in reality we are just one of the better CAA teams in a bad CAA.

I continue to wonder what the plan is for our 1&2 guards. Tinsley started initially & Green was getting very little PT. A few games Madi played with hardly a minute played from Tinsley. I guess it could be a coach adjusting the lineup for minor injuries. It’s just come across as a little bizarre not knowing who is going to carry the PG load most games.

Although I like them both, I just don't see pure point guard skills in either of them. Neither really has that floor general presence that tells you they are running the offense and constantly looking for the open player. I just don't see slick ball handling skills. They do both possess some nice offensive skills though. If we were ever in the position of protecting a lead against a pressing defense (think the Maryland game), I would not be comfortable we'd do any better than last year. It would be nice to be wrong on that, because we could bury teams late with our free throw shooting. We are top level in that category- 5th in the country at 80.4%. They ought to tutor the men's team!

Hazell seems to be very capable of playing PG too. But definitely has a scorer’s mentality so a more natural 2-Guard.

We both felt like the team was coming together a lot better this past weekend. Even without Peyton they played better as a unit. Maddie was amazing in the first game, going on that 3 point tear. If we could just get past those pesky TOs!
Things i really like are things that often don't show up on the stat sheet, like Tinsley's quickness and the utter fearlessness of Hazell and Carodine (which works most of the time). And did anyone else notice the intensity in Claire Neff's eyes when she finally got on the floor? I think that bodes well for the future.
Speaking of Carodine, I think she's something of a physical freak...in a good way. Nobody 5'10 should be ably to get some of the rebounds she gets or do some of the things she does. But she has an amazing vertical leap. Seriously, watch her. Between that and the long arms and her ability to somehow contort her body to get in there, she's kind of amazing.

She is a fearsome rebounder. Can't see anyone ever ripping the ball away from her. I'd love to know what her +/- rating is (do they even if they keep track of that?). Seems good things happen when she's on the court, regardless of whether she is scoring.

Had mentioned a couple times to the wife during both games to watch how high Jailyn gets around the basket when rebounding. She does get some amazing vertical leap!!

She reminds me of what Pat Summitt once said about Semeka Randall, "When she gets on the court, any of ten things can happen. Nine of them are good."

Women are the highest rated CAA team the in insiders poll this week.

https://collegeinsider.com/womens-mid-major-top-25

At this point 85% of what matters to me is the CAA tournament.

Don't want to hear we're young, or *** was injured or not 100%. We need to start winning the CAA tournament at least half the time. No more us being favored and getting blown out in one of the CAA tournament games.

Yup. This is the year to do it. Let's gooooo!

Interesting that we are the highest rated CAA team since Delaware is 11-1 in the conference.
