So a few questions come to mind with this announcement:

Why did Madden get rid of the Superstar Mode for Face of the Franchise?

Does this virtually eliminate Road to Glory, or will Face of the Franchise be scrapped for a return to Superstar Mode?

I’m thinking the same thing.

I am going to be SHOCKED if this game comes out before 2023. The CLC is telling member schools it will take multiple years to publish. EA is telling schools it will take multiple years to publish. It's not going to be a re-skin.

I can also report that the CLC has told FCS teams that as of right now, they will not be included at launch.

I'll have an update as to other schools that have either opted out, or at least have not currently opted in, later this week. I know of a few more now besides Notre Dame, Northwestern and Tulane.

He toured all of the campuses and took pictures to render the view from the stadium in the game, and when they left out South Alabama on accident one year, he gave them their own custom intro for home games the next year as an apology. Say what you will about EA, but when Ben Haumiller's running the NCAA series, you have a guy that loves the sport and wants to make it about the pageantry and the fans.

My wife, an NIU grad, was a little dumbstruck when I played a home game with them in 14 and she could point out where her dorm room was in the background. She thought NIU was a crap college and no one would pay that much attention to it.

That's depressing. I hate it when G5 alumni/students don't like their school. If they really don't like it or think it's 'crap', why don't they just find something else???

Options. It's cheap and close to home. She was from Rockford, and Dekalb is about 45 minutes away. I can confirm that NIU has a pretty bad rap in the area. It's where you go if you can't get into UIUC, ISU, or UW and don't want to stray far enough from home to go to a UW branch school, whether it's D1 or D3.

She also paid no attention to college athletics before we were together, so she didn't even know they were FBS. Them pulling home games against P5 opponents is a pretty recent phenomenon.

I still don't get it, especially in regards to the bolded & the fact she lived in a dorm. People are crazy.

I do hear 'NIU has a pretty bad rap' a lot. Why's that? . Unfortunately WMU doesn't have a stellar reputation, but it's more apathy than anything truly bad.

Also, I feel like the MAC needs to do a better job at promoting themselves as an FBS conference. But that could've been more of a problem back in the day, especially when only one MAC team went a bowl game a year & the schedule consisted usually of just 1 P5 a team.

So is she a fan now or NIU or no?
