I have never played any NFL or college video games. I am not sure why. I think they got too complicated for me. This is the last football video game I recall playing, circa 1987:

Ugh. Sounds like it is 2-3 years away.

Anyone who has seen anything EA Sports Division has done over the last decade knows they'll put most of their time and effort into a stupid Ultimate Team mode...I just hope they realize that 99% of people who played this game did so for the Dynasty Mode and won't care one bit about that.

2k Sports put out a far better product than EA in the early 2000s. EA knew it themselves, so they bought out the exclusive license for both NFL and college football. This effectively crippled 2k Sports as for 10+ years 2k has a been a shell of what they once were.

EA sucks, but anything is Christmas after a decade.

Yep...NFL 2k5...best football game in existence IMO.

Doubt it. They will just take a Madden engine and change a few things. Adding teams and colors is pretty easy.

No question. Crazy thing was 2k sold that game for only $19.99 iirc!

I guess the only thing left to talk about is wish-list:

Have full staff build-outs with traits/grades for development, in game coaching (like the sharpness thing in FIFA), or recruiting and the ability to hire, develop, fire, etc. those coaches
Have the option to adjust the post-season situation in the off-season
Recruiting overhaul: Allow for dynamic stories like Madden/2k do for draft stories, make it more than just lumping points onto people for scouting and recruiting (assigning different coaches to different areas for scouting instead of using a flat list like FIFA's YA stuff, phone calls vs. visits, more control over all of your institutional traits, corruption options with ramifications)
Allow for multi-year recruitment
Multiple Broadcast options like the old NCAA Basketball games had based on conference media deals
Better individual player mode (built out like 2k does theirs), go back to what 2006/2007 had
Coaching/Training regimens in season for player development (rather than just an RNG addition to stats every off-season).

The subtext, of course, is this...

Oh for sure...that's why they've dropped "NCAA" from the title. Gets their grubby hands off of it and they get to work directly with the schools/players instead.
