80-78 after a JMU 3. Each used their final timeouts. 30 seconds left

Good game guys. As much as it sucks for us to lose, for me that disappointment is tempered knowing that Drexel has gotten boned pretty hard this season with scheduling.

We held on and won 84-78. Big win, plenty to be concerned about. Okros came up huge for us today. Hope this game gets him going for the CAAT. Hopefully Lewis has a swift recovery. Big loss for JMU.

We are now the 6th seed and avoid the play-in game.

RE: James Madison
That was really a great win for Drexel on the road against the #1 seed on Senior Day. They came out ready to play from the start and showed me that they really have some guts. Even with out Lewis, I thought that JMU played extremely well tonight. Once Drexel took that 10 point lead midway through the 2nd half, JMU's shooting caught fire big time, and the Dragons managed to stage off their huge run.

It was a total team effort tonight. Even with Cam in foul trouble, they didn't seem to lose much with him out of the game. 4 players in double figures. Okros really stepped up with some huge 3-pointers after not playing a game in a long time. And Luke House with that enormous 3-pointer late to put Drexel up 5 in the final 2 minutes.

I would definitely count this as the biggest win for Drexel in the Spiker Era, and maybe their biggest win in 9 years.

Even though they were fighting for 6th place, we all know that they did not play on even ground with the rest of the conference, so finishing 6th really doesn't mean anything as long as they got the bye.

RE: James Madison
favorite play was bell diving for a loose ball. i don't see enough of that type of hustle. there was a stretch where oden and bell were getting nice looks for each other and making a lot of great hustle plays. bench was off their chairs. it was nice to see some energy for a change.

we'll see what happens next week.

Wynter's foul trouble could make him finish second in assists per game for the third consecutive season. As of now, which is what is used for awards voting, Wynter's 7 today increased him to 5.56, and Hofstra's Caleb Burgess leads with 5.62. Wynter would lead if he had 1 more assist. He's your only player first or second in a statistic. He's third in minutes per game. Butler is third in rebounds per game, field goal percentage, and defensive rebounds per game.

Attended the game yesterday in person and was very impressed by your team. Every time we made a run (which was multiple times) you guys countered with a run of your own and held us off. We have a pretty good defensive team and you guys were able to get open shots and hit them. I would have loved to have called timeout when we had the ball down two at the end, but your guys made a great play to get a block against our hottest shooter to essentially win the game.

I'm jealous that you were able to attend a live sporting event. I totally believe in keeping safe from this virus, but I'm also frustrated that I live in a state and near a major city that's taking the safety WAY too far and has taken away everything that I enjoy doing. I joked all year about how I've been socially distant at the DAC for 8 years, and they clearly could have let some fans in safely. On the other hand, there were no games to attend since they all got stinkin' cancelled.

I am just as frustrated as I live in NJ. My 12 year old son and I drove down and attended game and then came back this morning. We were donors to the new arena and that was the only reason we were able to attend a game. Literally spent less than 15 hours in VA before coming back. Our arena holds 8500 and the 250 is ridiculous at this point.

Tried to get tickets to the football game today and could not since it was limited to 250 in a stadium that holds 25,000.

Most important conference game, sure I can buy that. Houston is still the biggest win under Spiker, and its not that close

Houston was a big win because of the level of the opponent at the conference. But it would have meant nothing if Drexel lost that game.

Saturday's game was bigger because of the effect that it could possibly have on their CAAT chances, besides being on the road against the #1. As a result of their win, they have as good a chance as the other top 5 teams to win the whole thing. If Drexel loses to JMU, their chances are zilch. The win also guarantees a winning season for Drexel, their first in 7 years and first under Spiker.

RE: James Madison
Their chance are zilch anyhow, lets be honest. This team has not shown consistency under Spiker to think they can win 3 games in 3 days away from home. I am not buying it. Was it big? Avoiding the play-in round is important, but this team had no business being in that position to begin with, so if you want to call it the biggest conference game that we caused to be big, so be it. JMU was the worst team in the conference last year. We brought everyone back. We should have expected to beat that team, not don it the best Spiker win. They were also with out the potential POY. Lets not get carried away, or better yet lets raise our expectations a little from the basement. This was a game that we never should have lost. Not one we should be bragging about as a win.

It was a step in the right direction, however. Teams under Spiker with seeding and importance on the line, have not gone our way. It was nice that for moments we stepped up for the occasion instead of completely coming out seemingly overwhelmed by the moment.

I disagree here. I think their chances are as good as any other team. They are an experience team that's been practicing for the past three month. I think they're the only team not to go into protocol during the CAA season. I saw a team on Friday that's on a mission and look to be preparing themselves to win a championship, not just show up. I wouldn't look at past Spiker teams as benchmark, because his past teams didn't have the overall talent, depth, and experience.

Now with 9 other teams in the tournament, the percentages are not in their favor to win it, and you could very easily come back to me next Wednesday and say "I told you so". I'm just saying that if I were an odds maker, I'd probably put their odds of winning to be very closely in line with the other top 5 teams.

RE: James Madison
You saw a team on a mission, I saw a team come out strong and desperately try to hold on against a depleted team. Not one that came out and punched them in the mouth and put the game away showing their strength. Blowing big early leads is completely in line with Spiker teams, even this season. On paper, sure I absolutely agree with you, that we are right up there as a favorite. In actual practice, I have no idea how we could be. Am I being pessimistic? Yes, because by definition realistic view is considered pessimistic, but I am a "give me reason to believe" type of person, and this team and Spikers teams have not done so. So I am stuck on a "you have to prove me wrong before I will believe"
