We keep moving up in the standings since they stopped playing. I think we're in 9th place now. Just one spot from a trip to the MACT!!!!

This is great! Maybe if we stopped playing completely, we'd win the conference.

5 postponed games?
I’m wondering if the remainder of the season will be cancelled. I got a call today about picking up my Huskie cutouts. But, the women are still playing, so I’m not sure what’s going on.

Spared us the humiliation of a beat down from the top team in the MAC.

I think anyone who could potentially spread it (everyone) could stand to give up a few activities to keep more of us alive, and IMPORTANTLY, to try to get us ahead of a virus that is mutating and is capable of mutating and becoming more deadly. How's about we just avoid all unnecessary contacts until we get this thing licked. It may only take a few months! I think we can do it, or we can let it mutate faster than we vaccinate, and many many many more of us will die. Just sayin'.

But that’s the thing isn’t it? At some point in this whole thing we are, f we admit it or not, putting value on a life.

Who has a life more valuable? Kids committing suicide because of being locked down is heartbreaking. I, honestly, do not feel the same heartbreak when a 90 year old dies with covid. It’s awful to say, but this whole thing has made us start to value lives.

There has to be a way to help these kids out. We do an awful job with mental Illness.

If you make me choose I say save the kids. Preferably we can save everyone. But if we can’t we have to do more to help them along.

It's really sad that nobody mentions China lately as they get their weekly covid anger off their chest. Wether this came from their lab (on purpose or via negligence), or simply emerged coincidentally from a disgusting local market, it seems pretty evident that the CCP lied about its inception, withheld info about person-to-person transmission from the W.H.O., and also sat back and watched thousands of infected Wuhan citizens board planes for the U.S., UK, Australia, Italy for several weeks with full knowledge they were about to spread disease. All of this could have been at a lesser degree if they weren't so immoral and self serving. China directly cost us thousands of lives and billions of dollars, yet we and our press throw 99% of our rocks at our own administrations, government, and each other - sad (and Im sure just how China wants it).

I’d hate for this to turn into a political thread, but you are spot on. I could not agree more with you.

And I know for a fact that China has infiltrated our universities and is stealing trade secrets and intellectual property. They have many researchers in their back pocket.

RE: 5 postponed games?
Can someone please explain to me what the prior two posts have to do with NIU canceling basketball games? Do we really need to do this to nearly every thread?

Dog Fan, if you don’t want to turn it into a political thread......then don’t.

Only important thing in this season is who the next coach is. Who really cares if MBB plays 2 or 10 more games. Hoping for a coach to create some enthusiasm in the program along with becoming competitive in the MAC. Am I wrong to think that is possible?

"Yeah, this doesn't have anything to do with bball does it?"

About as much as the 9 pages of comments about 50% off clothing at VCB.

I'd rather discuss COVID than shopping, but that's just me.

Last I checked NIU MBB has postponed (that's a lie - they are cancelled. Anyone else getting tired of being lied to concerning all things COVID?) 6 games and won't have played for 4 weeks come Saturday.
I have been deemed nonessential by Big Brother.
My 29 year old step-grandson has gotten his shot because he works at Chrysler but his 78 year old grandmother with health issues can't get one! Following the science, BULLSH**!!! Everything is political (did you watch the Superbowl?).

With that being said let us celebrate the incredible stunning diversity from the AD to the coaches to the players on the NIU MBB team.

Interesting that football had zero positives all season and bball can’t get on the court.

Was thinking the same thing. Might be more to Monty getting canned then just his record, as in he was detached from the program?

After reading articles from Illinois coaches on how NIU was no where to be seen when it came to recruiting it makes you wonder how much effort he was putting into the program as a whole.
