RE: Hawks v. Hofstra
Starting to attack the zone in the middle and playing zone, and we're back in this one down 8. Boggs and Harvey the leading scorers for UNCW now.

RE: Hawks v. Hofstra
Time for Pridgen to make an impact by attacking the middle of the zone. He has one rebound and zero points.

Boggs having the best game of his career today. Gets the steal on the press then attacks the rim to get the foul and two ft's

Hawks attacking the basket now and getting points and fouls. Great adjustment by Siddle.

Forcing Hofstra to rack up the fouls on BOTH ends. Fantastic work!

We were down 25-10 early. We’ve outscored them 27-15 since.

Wow, what a turnaround by the Hawks'! This one was looking like a blowout as we got down 17 and are now down 3 with 4:00 left in the 1st. half.

It took Siddle yelling at them at timeout for them to wake up.

Ref called the last foul on the drive before the Hofsta player ever went up for the shot and he still gave him the basket.

Yep. He didn’t like the lack of fire out of our guys compared to Hofstra’s. There’s not a whole lot wrong scheme-wise. Fatigue and foul trouble are the biggest factors working against us today.

I don't think the officials can hear me helping them with the calls from upstairs. LOL

Should put Tolafree in there to play hard. Ty has left bias on 3 ball as he is missing left. Good to see Boggs and Okauru step up.

FloHoops makes you pay for games AND gives you commercials? Yikes. Pick one.

Our teal jerseys need yellow letters and numbers. Navy on teal is hard to read from far away.

No zone was dumb. Why no Tolafree or Dodd? When will Shy be freed up to actually get into a game?

Coach said in postgame yesterday he wants the best guys on the floor as much as possible. If that means using 6 and guys getting tired, so be it. I don’t think Tolefree or Dodd would have made the difference.

RE: Hawks v. Hofstra
As for Shy, I imagine getting to the point where he was dressed this weekend was a big “milestone” in his return. He looked good physically. So it all comes down to what he shows in practice and his conditioning.

Without any knowledge of that, I guess we should hope the next incremental step is seeing the floor for a few minutes next weekend. But who knows. Maybe he won’t play at all, or he’ll get 20+ minutes because he’s ready.

RE: Hawks v. Hofstra
Please justify not using zone in this game given the circumstances. No good explanation can be made. We could not stop Ray on drive and certainly not Kante with our current personnel or lack there of. And, I know what the coach thinks about playing best players. I just don’t agree at all with it because you gas guys like that with no subs. We had zero pop at the end and did not score a field goal in the final 2 minutes. Need Shy yesterday.

RE: Hawks v. Hofstra
Okauru scored his first 15 points in 7:22. He became your first player to score 30 since Jordon Talley scored 37 against Hofstra in the 2018 CAA Quarterfinals. He had 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Boggs had 21 points and 6 rebounds. Harvey and Gadsden scored 11, and Gadsden shot 2-9, but made 6 free throws to extend his streak to 44. Pridgen scored 9 and had 6 assists. Bowen made 1 of 2 free throws with 3:05 left in he first half for your only bench point.

Isaac Kante led Hofstra with 21 and tied his season-high with 7 free throws made, but only had 5 rebounds. Jalen Ray scored 18.
Kvonn Cramer scored a career-high 17 and had 11 rebounds to lead all player and 3 blocks to lead all players. Caleb Burgess had 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Omar Silverio had 10 points and 4 rebounds. Kevin Schutte scored 6 in 9 minutes, but he committed four fouls including a technical. Vukasin Masic missed all three field goals and made 2 free throws, Stafford Trueheart missed his only shot, and David Green did not shoot. Hofstra didn't use as much depth as yesterday. Zion Bethea didn't play, and Kevin Schutte (9), David Green (5), and Stafford Trueheart (3) combined for 17 minutes. The five starters and Silverio played at least 22 minutes.
