"Montgomery recently was head coach at Northern Illinois for the last 10 seasons and took the program to new heights..."

RE: Monty to Detroit Mercy
In his ten years he took us to "BOTH a postseason appearance and a victory over a ranked opponent". Man, you want to talk about a daily double!! BOTH of them in a ten year span. Heck, he even advanced us to the quarter finals in that postseason appearance because eight of the teams didn't even show up.

Isn't Detroit Mercy that school where the entire women's team quit because their coach was an awful human being?

Monty should try his hand at that. If NIU was a tough task, that would have been even harder!

Also, remember when we scored 5 points in a half? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

I would take him as an assistant coach. Not a head coach though. They got a good deal. Lol

Yeah, wasn't he a rockstar back at MSU? Part of the reason why we all thought he'd be a perfect fit for us.

Excellent background at a big time program, roots to local recruiting, former boss had nothing but great things to say about him.

None of that ended up helping, because although we had our moments, we were still a joke of a program.
