MAC & NIU Football Schedule
Several Fall 2021 football schedules starting to be released. The MAC & NIU tend to be a bit slower- does anyone have an inside to when we can expect the schedule to be released?

The Wyoming and Maine home games are biggies. They will probably be on ESPN3 or +, but they should be on coast-to-coast national TV. Maybe even international TV! I know our many fans in Luxembourg or Lichtenstein would be glued to their TVs! I sure hope fans are allowed in the games. I am predicting sellouts for both.

25% to 100% stadium-occupancy allowed is the guesstimate at this point for fall football, yes?

I don't want anyone sitting next to me and, trust me, they would not want to sit next to me.

Yep. NIU travels to Buffalo and Kent St and hosts BG in DeKalb.

Opening vs G Tech should be fun.

September 4th...and they legit kind of suck.

We weren’t good, but you could see flashes - they were a total **** show. I mean I don’t think we are favorites or whatever, but this team could compete if they develop like they should under Hammock.

RE: MAC & NIU Football Schedule
Next year will be year 3 under Hammock. If NIU doesn’t at least make a bowl game then I think you have to really question whether he was the right hire. It will be almost entirely his roster by the time the season kicks off.

Looking at the schedule it’s very possible NIU starts 1 - 3 and with MAC crossovers at Buffalo and Kent finishing 5 - 3 in conference play could be tough to pull off.

Georgia Tech fans seem more worried about playing Kennesaw State than NIU next season which is pretty sad.

They won more games in the ACC than we did in the MAC... If they were a **** show then a new word needs to be invented to describe what NIU was. They do not suck. They are in a similar position to NIU in terms of a new coach and young team, but their coach is a proven winner, and their young players were the 27th rated recruiting class in the country. Not to mention all the 4 star transfers they have brought it from places like Texas and Alabama. There backfield of Sims and Gibbs is legit and will make NIU look silly if they don't bring their A game.

I would disagree. They were 100% a **** show. Being better than us last season doesn’t mean they were not a **** show.

If you watched their games they were out classes in just about every game, and the confusion they showed on both sides of the ball would be the perfect definition of **** show.

Playing a team who is a shot show is a total opportunity for a competitive game.

Watch them vs Syracuse or UCF. Very telling games.

Agree. They should should have a winning record this upcoming season.

Hope to go to the game at Michigan. What sections do the Huskie fans sit?

Fair point, but if it is almost entirely his roster none of his players will be seniors, very few juniors and I'm guessing 60-70% of his guys will be sophs or younger.

The beauty of college sports is that the rosters always turn over---difference here is that is was an extreme makeover.

Year three should be the traction year and that needs to being going into the right direction. I'm not downplaying that a bowl game should be a target as it does take a .500 record to get to one, but the lack of the a bowl game shouldn't be the question mark---the lack of traction--record wise and noticeable talent should be.

Last time, at Michigan, most of the NIU fans were in the south endzone.

I sat in the south endzone corner a couple rows from the top. Anyone who complains about Huskie Stadium should sit where I sat in Michigan. And let's not even discuss the crap Michigan fans around me (with one wearing a Toledo shirt). One time going to that stadium is enough for me.

Let's not forget the seat size. Huskie Stadium has a relative 40,000 capacity based on Michigan seat size.

I heard Dog Fan was required to buy 6 seats.

That is very true - 3 seats for each butt cheek.

Being young can only be an excuse for so long in my view. Look at WMU under Fleck. Went from 1-11 to 8-5 in one year with a very young roster. This is the MAC, not the SEC. If the roster talent has jumped up as much as many on this board say it has then that should start showing on the field next season. Being a .500 team by year three is a very low bar.
