04-cheers Party time

I got tix through stubhub or something. I was in the NE corner. I was shocked how many hilljacks there were. Never would have guessed. Just ignorant. But have since realized in trips the MI and watching tv that their rural areas might as well be WV, AL or TX. Saw a video of the Capitol riots today and one guy was wearing a UM sweatshirt. Was not surprised. Like OSU fans, it's adopt a school since you didn't go to college.

Albeit I know plenty of MAC grads that worship UM, OSU over their own alma mater.

I sat in the south endzone corner a couple rows from the top. Anyone who complains about Huskie Stadium should sit where I sat in Michigan. And let's not even discuss the crap Michigan fans around me (with one wearing a Toledo shirt). One time going to that stadium is enough for me.

Let's not forget the seat size. Huskie Stadium has a relative 40,000 capacity based on Michigan seat size.

I heard Dog Fan was required to buy 6 seats.

That is very true - 3 seats for each butt cheek.

I heard that one seat had a reserve of hot dogs just in case the stadium ran out.

Yes, there was a whole sack of dogs awaiting me. I truly appreciated that! But, I had a problem during the game of people trying to reach into my sack and pulling one out.

Being a .500 team by year three is a very low bar.

That's debatable. NIU was under .500 after coach Novak's third season. And let's not forget the level of the bar STF used to judge Monty.

Are you sure that was a problem....or was it a happiness?

Novak took over a team that averaged 3 wins a season over the last 5 years. Hammock took over a team that averaged 8 wins over the last 5 seasons. I’ve said this before, the further you sink a program for a “rebuild”, the further the winning is required. Hammock Is close to cornering himself into having to produce 10 win seasons. Other wise Carey could have produced 7 to 8 win seasons without dropping the program to the bottom of the FBS.

Looking at the schedule it’s very possible NIU starts 1 - 3 and with MAC crossovers at Buffalo and Kent finishing 5 - 3 in conference play could be tough to pull off.

Georgia Tech fans seem more worried about playing Kennesaw State than NIU next season which is pretty sad.

Fair point, but if it is almost entirely his roster none of his players will be seniors, very few juniors and I'm guessing 60-70% of his guys will be sophs or younger.

The beauty of college sports is that the rosters always turn over---difference here is that is was an extreme makeover.

Year three should be the traction year and that needs to being going into the right direction. I'm not downplaying that a bowl game should be a target as it does take a .500 record to get to one, but the lack of the a bowl game shouldn't be the question mark---the lack of traction--record wise and noticeable talent should be.

Kinda the same thing with CMU? Went 1-11 in 2018 new coach in 2019 and they finish 8-6.
