Are Kent's women ever going to play again?
Kent is leading the MAC with a 4-0 record. Teams who have not postponed have played 10. If they finish 4-0, should they even make the tournament?? My Miami team has 15 girls on scholarship. We have played with as few as 6 girls this year, also with 7, most games with 8, we had a season high of 10 suited up tonight.

I have no idea if all Kent's postponements are on them or they have just been unlucky with playing teams who had covid issues. I would be interested in hearing about it from a Kent fan who knows what is going on.

No team should be banned from conference tournament play for too few games. Not this year. Figure it out MAC.

You’re assuming their will be a conference tournament..... I doubt there is one with the NCAA tournament the following week.

It’s seemed more and more likely to me that conference tournaments would be canceled this year.

There were articles into todays Dayton Daily as both the Horizon (Indianapolis) and the A-10 ( Richmond) announced their complete tournament schedule. Where do you get your information that conference tournaments will not be held?

I didn’t say I had information about tournaments being canceled, only that I have a feeling that they may be. Coincidentally, after I posted that, I saw an article about that very topic.

USA TODAY: Should conference tournaments be canceled?

When you look at the procedures and restrictions being established for the NCAA Tournament in Indy, you have to question whether the smaller conferences are going to want incur the additional expense precautions are going to cost when the revenue from fan attendance will be negligible or
non-existent. I hope they go on, but I’m not entirely optimistic.

Might deserve its own topic, but since it’s being discussed here, I saw the America East posted their tourney info too

I could see the MAC moving the tourney to a campus this year. Hopefully it gets played. I love all day basketball that first day.

RE: Are Kent's women ever going to play again?
In regard to the MAC tournament. I have attended every one since they started 40 years ago except what little there was last year, and even then I was there and had tickets, they just would not let us in. Anyway for almost 20 years the MAC has offered a cheap all tournament ticket good for all sessions, both mens and womens. The tickets are at the end of the court in the first row above the floor level. We usually sit in the first row of the club level which are great seats for the womens games and the early mens games.

Last year they offered to return our money or roll the tickets over to this year. We just rolled them over. Anyway, they called and wanted to know if we still wanted them for this year. They said we would have to sit in those seats for all the game as there would be very limited attendance and everyone would have to be in their assigned seat for covid spacing.

So I just wanted everyone to know that the Cavs ticket office says the tournament is on with limited seating and they said because we have had all tournament tickets longer than anybody else, we were the first ones they put on the priority list. There will be limited seating spaced out, and only the lower sections will be open, not even the club level is open this year. So unless here is some sort of dramatic change in the next 5 weeks, the tournament is on with some fans.
