Has anyone heard any news about WFT picking new nickname?

Crazy enough. I hope WFT remains the name. Gives it a European feel and is unique.

2022. The hold up is in licensing and long term branding. It won't be a fan favorite like Redtails or Generals.

Saw that they will have new nickname and logo in time for the 2022 season

This just in...It's a slight change in colors to "Washington Wokes"



They're finalizing the Trademarks now, filings have already been done. Kinda obvious when you think about it.

Armada and Brigade are very non-NFL-type names.
Commanders, Defenders, and Presidents are generic but I don't hate Commanders (i.e. Commander-in-Chief).
Redhogs just doesn't sound like a good name to me but I'm sure there's a group that feels different.
Redwolves isn't bad.
Washington Football Team is almost comical and sarcastic to use.

My top three:
1) Washington Redwolves
2) Washington Commanders
3) Washington Football Team

Honestly, with those choices I'd stay with Football Team... none of them do much for me.

I hear "Washington Bullets" is available...would be historical and current at the same time.

Also "Washington Barrycrackers" would be a nod to the district's more recent history and values, bringing all communities together in one multi-purpose moniker.

Interesting to see Defenders on the list, given that was the name of the XFL team. That certainly has to be a red herring.
