This team will only go as far as Dae'Quan Scott will carry them. Hopefully we can see some growth at the QB position and Justin Thorpe can keep defenses honest with his arm.

We should have beaten NDSU that year. We outplayed them after the first quarter, just couldn't overcome a bad start.

My bet is that it may go back up to 1000, but I don't see it going higher unless the numbers drastically change as we are only a month away.

JMU has already announced that there will only be family and friends of program for CAA tourney and that actually is 2 weeks after start of football games. Personally I think it would be perfectly safe to have 3-5k at games if they were spaced out properly.

Hoping they do allow fans as I have tickets to JMU Drexel next month and there is a football game at noon that day. Would love to be able to go to both games.

With practice and the 1st 4 games during the winter (5th game is on the 1st day of Spring, 3/20), wouldn't this be the winter/spring season?

Yes, and normal seasons should be the fall/winter seasons. 01-wingedeagle

No, normal seasons are never fall/winter.01-wingedeagle
Normal seasons are:
-Preseason + Weeks 1-3 or Weeks 1-4 in the summer (depending on whether or not a 12 game season, and where the Fall Equinox falls (ranges from 9/21-9/24).
-Followed by Weeks 4-12 or 5-13 + the 1st 4 rounds of the playoffs in the fall. The only game that takes place in the winter is the NC game, and once every 6 years or so the 2nd semifinal game will take place on the 1st day of winter, as did in 2019.

Bottom line is during a normal season the bulk of the regular season occurs during the fall. This upcoming season the regular season is evenly split between winter/spring.

RE: JMU Spring 2021 Football preseason
Also, if this season & playoffs happens, whoever wins the NC will be the "2020 FCS National Champions". Can't be 2021, because that would be next season. So therefore will be the 2020 NC game, with the 2020 FCS playoffs, no? Therefore wouldn't it be the 2020 season?

Just like the Olympics this summer (if they happen). They will be the "2020 Olympics".

But if we’re talking meteorological seasons, the majority of this regular season is spring. Bottom line, I think everyone understands what is being discussed by the topic title (now that the year has been revised).

Well since Dukester started a thread on this, we can expect the cancellation notice about any moment now 04-cheers

My uninformed bet on crowd size: 250. No sign that Gov. Northam is going to change that any time soon. Cases will have to drop significantly before any event capacity restrictions are lifted...indoor, outdoor, whatever. It'll be player families only for BFS - 2 tickets per player, and I can't say I'd be there in February. Maybe there's hope for more crowds in April, but I wouldn't be too confident.

Who will be the QB?

Cole Johnson - feel good story for guy that was potentially the bridge to to the NC, that waited his turn?

Gage Maloney - the QB it seems like the last two coaches have wanted to take the position?

Someone else?

Hopefully no two QB system. I sense neither will be an above average "JMU" QB, but hopefully we are strong enough in other areas to offset that.

I expect your analysis will be spot on when we get to season start. I just hope:

1) we get 3 home playoffs games in our journey to Frisco

2) the state of the pandemic is significantly better by that time (read: no restrictions on attending the games)

3) my much better half and I have been vaccinated by then

4) the April/May weather is gorgeous on these home game dates at BFS which makes for great tailgating/gameday experiences

and, of course...

5) DUKES WIN!...DUKES WIN!...DUKES WIN!!

FRISCO BOUND or we fire Cignetti! 04-cheers
