1st game at ou was payday.
2nd game at tu
3rd vame at Ou

Its structured this way so OU couldnt back out of playing at Tulane without losing the free visit by Tulane for the third game.

It is still a 2 for 1 series.

Its a 1 for 1 plus a payday game. A 2 for 1 would have Tulane not being paid for the first visit 3 years ago. That is not the case.

Why would Tulane not be paid for their first game three years ago?
All 2 for 1 contracts that I know about provide for the visiting team to be paid for travel expenses, etc. usually about $300,000. That applies for both schools. The home team keeps all receipts.

I misspoke. Sorry. Tulane was paid fir the first game like it was a payday 7 figure game.

Tulane has a good relationship with a lot of P5 schools not un the SEC. Particularly the ACC and Big 12.

So what? USF won that argument over UCF a couple years ago. Getting a true blue-blood elite like Oklahoma in Tulane Stadium is a massive coup, and well worth two games in Norman, which also provide good exposure.

You're going to play some road OOC games anyway, might as well schedule elites if you can.

This is true, and partly why Tulsa has so few A5 wins the last 20 years because we usually play the likes of OU, OSU, Ohio State, Texas, Michigan State, etc. Fortunately OU and OSU come to our place fairly frequently.

I love this game, but wish we could start scheduling tennesse, fsu, Maryland, etc and get some wins over high profile teams who are dumpster fires

I believe one of the reasons for the game at Yulman vs Superdome is Yulman is outside and thus in theory safer than the Superdome

I'm not so sure. If the virus has been whipped by then, then it won't matter, and if it hasn't, the rigidly-liberal mayor is only going to allow very limited attendance no matter where the game is held.

Either way, if I was a Tulane fan, I'd want the game in our campus stadium. More pride of place.

If this virus is still kicking by the 2021 FB season, I bet that the D1/FBS world will be in tatters.
