You’ll like the West. It’s an outdoors paradise.

If you want to root for the underdog, Oregon State is the school. If you want a true college game experience then Oregon is the better choice. You’ll see Pac-12 fans do care about their teams, they’re just not that passionate like in other parts of the country. It’s a different culture out West.

Yea. I noticed both layers of their fandom. Definitely see a ton of tshirt fans but nobody talks about the games at work. Back in Pittsburgh at least 15 minutes of a workday was set aside to to Pitt, PSU and/or the Steelers. As for picking up a team. Gameday atmosphere will probably decide that.

RE: Pac12 fans
You live in Portland, Oregon. My Mom's side of the family is from there. It's pretty much Ducks country there but the Beavers are closer since the Ducks are located in Eugene which is closer to the California border then the Washington border. If you want an underdog to root for go with the Beavers. They do have Portland (WCC) which is a Private university and Portland State (Big Sky) which is located in the heart of Downtown, nice campus. If anything though, I highly recommend that you go see Portland Trail Blazers, Portland Timbers & Portland Thorns games there. It's a rabid fanbase. I love SE Portland and NW Portland a lot. Lake Oswego is a beautiful area but that's where a lot of big money is since it's by the river and go snowboarding at Mt. Hood when you get a chance.
