The CFL is such a better product than the USFL or XFL or AAF or whatever rinky dink spring leagues we have in the states. i HIGHLY recommend giving it a watch.

I would agree. I have watched some CFL games in person and it was entertaining.

Another signing in Ottawa.

So I wonder what type of money they can make in CFL? I mean is it like EMUSteve and JWeavers big paychecks?

I don't know but when I worked I had to do my own laundry. Never found clean work clothes just waiting for me. No one put my work shoes out for me in the morning.

didn't have a training table full of food and drink. All I got was coffee I brewed in the morning.

Didn't have a whirlpool or Jacuzzi. There wasn't a cheer team.

RE: NFL
Per Google: The CFL does not allow football teams to publish player salaries. But the salary cap for each team is available for public view. For example, the CFL had a $5,3 million salary cap for each team in 2021. This makes the player's average salary range from $60,000 to $100,000 for a season.

Zach Collaros of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers is the highest paid player at $550,00 per year.

But consider the quality of life (I love Canada).

Minimum salary in the CFL is 65k per year in Canadian dollars.. Canadian taxes and cost of living are high. You pay GST sales tax on about everything. Gas for example is higher. Ottawa would not be as high cost as Toronto Montreal or Vancouver. You do get healthcare.

True. Never had an ACL at work. 04-cheers There was a medical unit on site. Guess I was worth more alive than dead so they made sure I didn't die at work.

I'm going to do a pivot.

I wish the NFL would move up its draft so that players have the option of signing with the Spring league.

If I was not drafted by the NFL, do I sign with the USFL or go to a NFL camp as an UDFA???

It would give college players a fair opportunity to compare their options.

Wasn't sure where to stick this, but I figured some here would find this of interest. Here is a list of the top paid Offense players in the CFL. Gives you a good sense as to how what is arguably the NFL's top competitor is still a long way from achieving the success and notoriety the NFL has.

Don't get me wrong...it's still good money for basically playing a game, but seems minuscule compared to NFL wages.

As someone who follows the CFL I can attest that it's an extremely watchable product that the league needs to figure out how to put in front of more people. Its a niche sport for sure - but its entertaining. Its much better than the USFL or whatever other cockamamie spring league they try to start down here every year or so. I highly recommend giving it a shot. ESPN has the US rights.

I agree you with you Dan. I watched Winnipeg Blue Bomber games in person. Crowds were about 20 to 25k. Fun to watch!

Both of you are right, it is indeed fun. It is just too bad that the Canadian game cannot be exported to USA stadium that are unable to accommodate its large end zones.
