A heavy focus on Midwestern guys for now. I assume we will have the normal player or 2 from Georgia - and a guy or 2 from Florida.
Hammock goes heavier in Iowa and Nebraska than I ever remember Rod doing.
I prefer the targeted approach Hammock has in recruiting, he goes after guys he likes and feels like would fit here. In my opinion it's a better feel and look than scattershot offers.

Hammock puts out about 10-20% more offers than Carey did. And just on QB alone I prefer hammock’s recruiting to Carey’s, but it is not any better rating’s wise(which is always a controversy). Carey’s last 3 classes had an avg rank of 97th nationally. Hammock’s first 3 classes, believe it or not, rank 97th nationally. You are what you are. NIU in the MAC.

Well, being in the MAC makes no difference to Toledo.

Rod wasn’t scattershot either. His approach was what it was as far as talent, but he wasn’t Toledo crazy to give offers.
Eh, that first class for hammock was a joke. I count the last 2 as being the ones he could actually scout for a bit and decide on.
The one thing both Hammock and Carey did was recruit their guys. Hammock wants a P5 LOOKING team, rod wanted his players. Can’t say either is “right”.
I think Carey’s approach works better for an already built program, Hammock’s requires a restart (which really isn’t ideal a lot of the time.)

Toledo is ridiculous. They hit 400+ offers some times. I could barely find any other programs topping 300+ on rare occasion.
Toledo is the guy who buys $1,000 worth of lotto tickets.
Or the high school kid who asks 10 different girls to prom.

Toledo doesn't care one bit. As long as they keep having the top recruiting classes, they're doing it their way.

Micah Riley, the 89-rated, 6’5” TE from Nebraska is actually Micah Riley-Ducker, the cousin (I believe) of current NIU RB Jevyon Ducker.
**Fingers crossed**

Maybe NIU will keep a spot warm for this young fella a year or two down the road as getting him straight out of high school looks more and more unlikely with his ever-growing offer list.
