I believe UMD scheduled 3 different games for the upcoming days in 2 days time back in December. BYU scheduled a football game at CCU 24 hours in advance.
Hardest to retain the existing schedule, easiest to reschedule a game. Games are being scheduled all over the place for the upcoming week/days.
At this point we only have 6 games left on our conference schedule, and "I think" one of the Drexel games won't be played - so perhaps only 5 games.
This team needs more games.........

I mean, it's only Thursday afternoon. A lot can happen between now and Saturday or Sunday.

I really don't care that much, but it does seem to fit. My gut is it will happen, but who knows???
Still can't believe only 5-6 scheduled CAA games left on our schedule.

I'd like some rematches with some of the early season losses.

One issue possibly is that the UD Women's team is at home vs. Northeastern and our regularly scheduled games were at UD. Still don't see why we could not at least play a 5PM game on Saturday which would be 4 hours after the women's game at 1.

Why not Udel Sunday, 2pm?
Then we go to the the Dub on tuesday, Hofstra net weekend, then Drexel, UD again, close with Wmgt if they can ever get their act together. That's 9 games, just go to Sat, Sun,Wed and get em in. Depending, of course.

So either Delaware or JMU didn’t want to play this weekend. I wonder which one?
It is a simple 3 1/2 hour road trip.
Those that want to make rescheduled games happen will find a way. Those that don’t will find reasons that it is inconvenient or too much work.
ACC basketball it is for this weekend

Well one good thing is that UNCW is playing this weekend so they will be playing 4 games in 5 days. We should be the fresher team.

They seem a bit concerned about that, as we would be in a similar case. Of course we were unwilling to play 3 in 5 days.

With our depth, playing three games in five days should not be an issue.

RE: Is it possible? A normal Covid schedule for both basketball teams this weekend?
And really the prep of the regular season is to be ready to play 3 games in 3 days at the tourney.
Some of this stuff will shake out if Mettlen digs over the last 4 weeks of the season. Coach By alluded to it early in the season that teams may conveniently refuse to reschedule games especially if they have a good position in the Conference standings. He called it “gamesmanship.” I call it wussy tactics. If you are scared to play, then publicly state that you are scared to play so that you can be properly ridiculed.
I suspect we will see even more of it as the timeline gets compressed close to the end of the season. Excuses will become rampant to include “the dog ate my scouting report”
What will be funny is if coach By gets trapped in his own concern. Suppose JMU maintains its 2nd place winning percentage into the last week and its regularly scheduled double header gets nixed due to COVID. And the only way for them to drop in the rankings is to lose a game. Will Coach By take the high road and reschedule a team that previously got postponed or will he go the low road and find excuses of why they can’t reschedule with another team. TBD
Each coach and program in the CAA could have similar scenarios with some lower in the standings begging for rescheduled games to try to move up and some higher in the standings not wanting to drop in the standings.

There ya go. Make sure you setup ways to be unhappy with HCMB ahead of time. Man, you just really see the big picture so much clearer than the rest of us. Thanks for blessing us with these takes.
