Cisse is learning but he is still not ready...

Cant count on him for anything more that 20 minutes a game.

Probably not but compared to prior performances this was a breakout game for him.

This a breakout game for the guys passing him the ball...

If they can continue feeding Cisse in positions to score he will continue to be successful. It doesn't have to be a lob...But if the big helps on a drive they have to find a way to get him a catchable pass so he can finish.

If Cisse continues staying home and battling for position under the basket... But yeah, the passing has been good.
I didn't realize just how young he is either, he has tremendous upside if he can stay healthy.

Was encouraged by the 2nd half of the WSU game, the 1st half of the ECU game & the start of the very 1st game against St Mary's. That's the "could be" of this team & I hope it continues. But because of that kind of play & the obvious talent we have, most of the rest of the season to date has been very frustrating. That's why the relapse of the 2nd half of the ECU game was so frustrating too & why I would have preferred to see Penny stick with the guys who were productive rather than the wholesale substitutions he was making. Yes, I know we had a 30 pt lead but that was all the more reason to maintain the momentum team ball had produces in the 1st half. That doesn't mean not substitute just limit the subs to maintain or restore unselfish team approach & to stop the outbreaks of going off script. And this especially with such a big lead that made it really easy to just relax & overlook such undisciplined play.

I have to ask.....is that you in a Detroit jersey on Montreal ice?

It is our pro team's rink, Bell Centre, that has sold out over 21,000 seats, 40 games plus playoffs every year since 2004. The owner of the Canadiens, Geoff Molson, is friends with, and plays with our group on Friday afternoons and sometimes invites us to play at the arena. We play in Westmount, which is adjacent to Montreal's downtown core, and their city league sweaters had Red Wing logos at the time. A few players outside of our group were invited this particular time, so the organizers decided to give everyone the same red or white sweaters.

I am very lucky to have the privilege to play there. It is the equivalent to Yankee Stadium, Lambeau Field or Augusta National.

Gotcha....very cool. A Montreal game is on my bucket list. I was wondering how you pulled that off lol. If that happened at Bridgestone Arena, you could be killed lol and we aren’t Montreal.

We do have a sellout streak going back a couple of years but Bridgestone is the second smallest arena in the NHL outside of Winnipeg.

It does get rocking though.

The atmosphere at your arena is amazing; it's a great crowd. When this mess is over; if you are ever in town I'll be happy to take you to a game.

Likewise if you’re ever in Nashville

I don't know where to start, so I'll just pick apart each part of nonsense in the order that you typed it. Everything you type qualifies, so I hope you appreciate the work I put into it.

Quote:the relapse of the 2nd half of the ECU game was so frustrating
We shot 45.8% in the 2nd half, but we went 6-13 from the foul line. 2nd half offense in a 30 point blowout was fine.

Quote:I would have preferred to see Penny stick with the guys who were productive rather than the wholesale substitutions he was making.
Out of all the nonsense, the worst thing you do is to make statements without having a clue, that are the opposite of reality, in order to try and support one of your bizarre statements. Our low scorers in the first half were Jayden, Lomax, Dandridge and Williams, with Dandridge going 2-2 while Williams had 5 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists, and Nolley had 5 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Who did you want to sit in the 2nd half?

Quote:Yes, I know we had a 30 pt lead but that was all the more reason to maintain the momentum
This statement is so horribly dumb on its own for so many reasons. We play 3 games in 5 days with 4 plane flights thrown in for good measure. You want to reward a 30 point lead by playing 6-7 players and punishing Lomax, Jayden, Williams and Nolley? Anyone with even a tiny bit of common sense knows that you don't shorten your bench with a 30 point lead. No coach would be stupid enough to do that, especially when the effort is there. ECU shot under 30% for the game.

Quote:That doesn't mean not substitute just limit the subs to maintain or restore unselfish team approach & to stop the outbreaks of going off script.
Five players played between 22-24 minutes. Six through nine played between 16-19 minutes, and Jayden played 12 minutes. You can't script a more perfect distribution of minutes in a massive blowout with 3 games in 5 nights; the allotment of minutes was flawless.

Quote:That doesn't mean not substitute just limit the subs to maintain or restore unselfish team approach & to stop the outbreaks of going off script.
72.2% assist rate to baskets made in the 1st half and 63.6% in the 2nd half, BUT we made a higher percentage of our shots in the first half, AND we went to the line twice as many times (13 vs 6) in the 2nd half, which cut down our assists.

Quote:And this especially with such a big lead that made it really easy to just relax & overlook such undisciplined play.
8 turnovers in the 1st half, 9 turnovers in the 2nd half. No real difference in discipline or style of play. Nolley had 3 turnovers in the first half and 5 for the game. Did you want to sit him? None of our other players had more than 2 turnovers for the entire game. None of them deserved to sit. Lomax had 2 points for the game, but he had 5 assists. ALL of our other guards (LQ, Baugh, Boogie, Jayden) had 6. Did you want to sit Lomax for being unproductive?

We had 8 players in the first half with no less than 4 and no more than 8 points. Everyone did a GREAT job and everyone deserved the minutes they got. Atlanta looks at that and concludes that we should have played 6 or 7 the entire game. I can't believe someone could have such brutal self awareness and not understand how unintelligent they sound.

Me too man. I was at our Opening Night with about 300 people. It was good to be back but not the same.

Can’t stand the Blues though lol. During the Preds Stanley Cup run a couple years back, I went to playoff game in St Louis. It was the game where Kevin Fiala had his leg shattered.

If you go back and watch our 2008 Sweet 16 game against Michigan State; arguably one of the best 1st halves we have ever played, we were up by 30 points as well. The 2nd half is extremely disappointing. We really let off the gas, but still won by a comfortable margin. So, if one of the best teams we've ever fielded was not able to bear down and continue that effort in the second half of a much bigger game, I think its unreasonable for us to expect this team to be able to do it again lesser competition.

Agree. It would’ve been hard for any team to keep up the intensity after that first half.

Stamm, I rarely come here, just better sources of info out there. However, I do pop in and scan the front page every so often, and this thread is the first thread I opened this morning.

Little did I know I was going to get to experience classic Stammers grabbing the little (atlanta) rat like a mink and shaking it violently to death in this post. That made my perusal today worthwhile. 02-13-banana

The team's performance in the 2nd half against Michigan State and Mississippi State were completely unacceptable. Cal lost an opportunity to teach the kids a basketball lesson AND a life lesson.

Michigan State 47
Memphis 41

Mississippi State 54
Memphis 42

We gave up 103 points in the 2nd half. Cal should have benched everyone except the starting 5. I'll bet that carried over into our next games against Texas, UCLA and Kansas. That team must have sucked. Atlanta is right.

I don't know where to start, so I'll just pick apart each part of nonsense in the order that you typed it. Everything you type qualifies, so I hope you appreciate the work I put into it.

We shot 45.8% in the 2nd half, but we went 6-13 from the foul line. 2nd half offense in a 30 point blowout was fine.

Five players played between 22-24 minutes. Six through nine played between 16-19 minutes, and Jayden played 12 minutes. You can't script a more perfect distribution of minutes in a massive blowout with 3 games in 5 nights; the allotment of minutes was flawless.

Obviously, it has been a tough season for the players so far, and Atlanta wanted Penny to suck every tiny bit of fun out of a really good win after halftime of a 30 point blowout. It is incredible that someone who obviously has the lowest of the low personal standards, is so penal and intolerant of others 7 pay grades above him.
