No thanks.

They don’t have the votes. It’s just for the optics and to possibly get some damning evidence out that the MSM keeps behind locked doors.

Yes, it is just for optics. And for the history books.

And it gives them a foreshadowing of things to come in 2 years. There is more than ample evidence to convict Biden of corruption.

Regardless, well played!

Somebody has to be the adult in the room.

A petition for impeachment is going to go nowhere in a democrat-controlled house. It's just a temper tantrum.

Win the house in 2022, then impeach Harris first and then Biden.

Of course it won't go anywhere. That is, unless you can get 10 or so Democrats to vote to impeach. 03-wink

Anyway, it still keeps the pressure on the backburner. Democrats will have to cheat enough to keep control of the house in 2022.

It doesn't matter. Weekly symbolic articles of impeachment. Every single week.

Then, in 2022, it will have teeth.

That's red meat for the base, but that's not going to help you with independents. And that's whom you need.

Don't show too many cards, play it close to the vest, until you have the numbers to make it stick. You don't need to be running against, "Congressman/woman X did nothing but file impeachment petitions for two years, instead of taking care of his/her constituents."

When the democrats' plans for taxes and the economy start to kick in, and people start to see that the light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train called Venezuela, it will be easy enough. Don't screw it up by overreaching.

Let's be realistic

Biden isn't getting impeached. The Dems control Congress. The media is in bed with the left.

Do it each year at the start of every Congress. Then move on.

RE: Impeach 46
Republicans are basically where they were in 1993. Democrats control senate, HOR, and White House after defeating a one-team republican president. Differences I see are, 1) democrat margins are a lot slimmer this time, but 2) the democrat agenda is a lot more extreme than it was then.

So what did republicans do then? Newt took various issue positions and tested them with the public through polling and focus groups and put the ones that resonated into the Contract. Then he told every republican candidate to read off the same sheet of music and stay focused. As a result, they won their biggest electoral victory ever in 1994.

All is not lost. Republicans have several things going for them. One, if democrats overreach like they did with health care in 1993, and try to pass too many of their extreme tax and economic policies, they're going to get a lot of blowback. Two, when those policies fail miserably, republicans will have a huge opportunity. Three, democrats are currently overreaching on impeachment, and if republicans play it right, they can make democrats look like banana republic vindictiveness.

That's actually a lot to build on. But republicans need a message, and right now they have none. That's what Newt gave them in 1993, and somebody needs to do it now. Maybe they need to bring Newt out of retirement. I can't see McConnell or McCarthy or anyone else doing it. But let's look at some key issues;

Health Care: Democrats-Obamacare leading to single payer; Republicans-nothing
Taxes: Democrats-tax the rich and corporations; Republicans-nothing
2nd Amendment: Democrats-strict gun controls; Republicans-nothing
Defense: Democrats-cut defense spending past the bone; Republicans-nothing
Immigration: Democrats-open borders; Republicans-Trump's wall, but nothing more

If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything. That's where republicans are. I think a big part is that their leadership is too timid and, at least with Trump, too divided. Trump is not a conservative or a republican, he is a populist. Trump made significant inroads with blue-collar workers and people of color. The republicans' challenge is to keep those gains and bring back the RINOs who deserted.

Republicans have to make elections about issues. They can't win on personalities, in no small part because the MSM will persist in painting republicans in te worst possible light ad democrats in the best possible light. 2020 was about hating Donald Trump, no issues, nothing else. If republicans had succeeded in making it about issues, I think they could have won. But they didn't.

If republicans can put together a coherent Contract II and keep everybody on message, they can repeat 1994. If they muddle along the way they have for 20 years, the won't.

RE: Impeach 46
Since I'm big on making it about issues, and I am attacking republicans for having no issue positions, I should list a few of mine, starting with the above issues:

Health Care: Bismarck universal private health care/insurance, like the best systems in the world, works basically like our system except everyday gets a basic policy paid for by government directly or indirectly
Welfare: Subsistence-level universal basic income (UBI), run by the IRS, with current hodge-podge of focused and means-tested programs, along with the bloated bureaucracies to administer them, picked up by the states on a voluntary basis, with the money they save because Bismarck makes Medicaid redundant
Taxes: Lower, flatter, and broader (no/fewer non-business exclusions/deductions) income taxes (this is the way Bill Bradley, Dick Gephardt, and Reagan went in 1986, and it is what both Bowles-Simpson and Domenici-Rivlin recommended), together with a national consumption tax (this helps with balance of trade and keeping jobs here, too); this combination can balance the budget and start to pay down our debt
2nd Amendment: A shooting license, like a driving license, with safety course, exam, and practical test, and tied to the criminal data base; having a gun or ammo without a license is a criminal violation, and using a gun in a crime adds 10 years to the sentence
Defense: Cut administration/overhead by 25%, and increase combat and combat support by 25% each, to build a stronger military while saving $100B a year, and never fight a war that you don't intend to win
Immigration: Comprehensive merit-based immigration policy, like the rest of the world; build the wall along land borders in CA, AZ, and NM, and cover the Rio Grande with improved sensors, greater patrols, and other measures; guest worker status for illegals here and making productive contributions, and their families, but no path to citizenship except to go back home and do it by the numbers or serve a full hitch in the military with an honorable discharge

That's where I would start.

And let's not forget the RINOs out there. They are as much a part of the swamp as the Dems and the reason most of them don't want to see Pedo Joe fall for his crimes is because they have as many if not more skeletons in their closet.

Don't get me wrong, I despise Joe and his prostitute side kick, but they're as filthy as nearly every other politician in DC. They're all getting kickbacks from foreign countries and corporations, a good number of them probably took frequent rides on the Lolita Express or some of the women on Harvey Weinstein's casting couch, and many have some other pretty heinous crimes they're involved in that they have paid big bucks to ensure never see the light.

RE: Impeach 46
We are better than that. Let the libs be who they are. We lost the election, yes, by likely manipulation of the system, but they’ve got total control now. Let them do what they do and screw everything up because they will.
Then we’ll win elections going forward and fix their screw ups.
We can’t be hypocrites about it and throw fits for 2 or 4 years. Let’s not stoop to their level of complete insanity.

There is no reason to impeach Biden now. None.

It’s up to us to be the adults in the room. Let them hang themselves (figuratively) because they will.

You're wrong on 4 of those. Health care, yes, there is nothing. It cost them the House in 2018 and they still didn't come up with anything.

I think the secret is that the majority of Republicans think health care is ok and don't want changes.

But who is the Newt? Do we have a thinker? I don't see anyone in the House. Cruz in the Senate is smart enough, but he's too much of a political animal.
