RE: Discussion: what change have you seen since the election in your person life?
Beck nailed it this morning when he was talking about how the left is DEMANDING unity. If you didn't hear it, look it up cause I would botch it trying to paraphrase. The changes will become more noticeable when an emboldened left overplays their hand.

I've seen little change, even from liberal "friends". They are a bit mouthy, but still can't espouse any reasons they voted for or supported Biden without mentioning Trump. Nor can they bring up any of his policy that they favor other than the usual left lip-service about climate change and immigration. They still cut the conversations off at that point but now they are more open with name calling and attempts to shame me for not being a lib. I've learned to just smile at the ignorant and I remind myself that some people can't handle freedom, they have been too conditioned to being ruled whether they know it or not.

Gas is up about a quarter here, but honestly that probably has more to do with the coming cold in late Jan and Feb.

Aw, shucks.

But the riots all summer are ok, right?

Protests are fine. Violence is not.

So 200,000 showed up to protest and maybe a 100 got violent so impeach Trump. This will not end well on the path the socialist-democrats are taking us down.

Way more than 100.

Show me where I have ever condoned the riots & violence from this summer, please. In fact, I have said on this forum multiple times that it wasn't right, but I can't say I'm surprised you've ignored that.

That said, comparing tearing up a Target to attempting to forcefully hinder the completion of US law by storming the Capitol and attempting to harm elected officials is a non-starter. It's simply another level entirely. Sedition vs. vandalism & theft.

How about destroying police precincts (burning some knowing people were inside), burning city court houses and state buildings. Destroying police cars and targeting and killing police officers? Killing an individual because he’s a Trump supporter? Attempting to kill Republican senators/ congressmen while playing softball? Performing a play in Central Park depicting the murder of the President? Circulating a choreographed picture of the President’s severed head being held by a liberal comedian? Madonna saying she has thought about blowing up the White House? Johnny Depp asking when was the last an actor assasinated the President? A congresswoman telling people to get in the faces of Trump supporters and tell them they’re no longer welcome? I could go on. Are those game changers for you?
And to think that those Capital protesters were solely Trump supporters is simply wrong.
During the 2016 campaign, liberal trouble makers were paid to go to Trump rallies and start fights. You don’t think the same thing happened on the 6th?
Come on.

Destroying police precincts & going after police - all wrong, all aborrhent.

Celebs spouting off at the mouth - bad taste, but again, comparing it to breaking in the Capitol to violently attempt to stop laws from being carried out is a ridiculous comparison.

To honor the OP's request, I'll leave it at that - you are 100% correct that losing friends via social media is not a real concern.
It IS a real concern, however, that people I grew up with think that Wednesday's actions are to be applauded.

In other news, I paid about $.20 more a gallon when I filled up yesterday - not surprising in the least with the state of things since some will take it as an opportunity to make a buck, and the fact that administrations are about to change.

Personally, I don’t think you are promoting any kind of violence. Not at all. Imo, you may be failing to see what the last 4 years of liberal roof top shouting and the violence that went with it has done to those who are not liberal.

Do yourself a favor and get off of FB, if you are using your real name.

I am using my real name and I am thinking about it, given the fact that the left is already compiling a list of republicans that supported DJT.

My Facebook account was hacked by someone in Ukraine. FB has a backassward system to get you back your account if the hacker changes the password AND the email address.

Surprisingly, I probably should thank the ******* since I don't have to see all the BS now.

We don’t ever talk religion but I have 3 or 4 neighbors that I’ll discuss politics with if we’re talking outside and it comes to that. The Confederate flag hanging in my garage doesn’t offend them and their Trump and Gadsden flags in their garages don’t offend me. So everyone is happy, no one is offended, everyone gets along. Heck, 1 of my neighbors moved here from upstate NY and he’s pretty far right. At first he was a little worried back in the summer when there were the rumors that the hood rats were gonna bring their riots and protests to the suburbs. Told him not to worry about that. He says “I like you southerners. If someone is snooping around your home or vehicle, you shoot 1st and ask questions later”.

You have to be careful, though. You might realize you like someone and then find out later that they're one of THE OTHERS...

Only because they told me. It's like being Vegan, you have to let everyone know.

I have a good friend who's conservative, loves Trump (from Memphis). We never talk about politics, just football. It's really good conversation. We were out to dinner with his wife talking and he hits me with "that's because we're racist". Everybody at the table laugh. Good times.

Moronic. The gas stations around me have raised their gas prices $.30 in one day frequently for the last 10 years or more. Then it gradually goes down and they raise it back up another $.30.

Presidents do next to nothing to effect the price of gas...it's based on a global supply and demand market and speculation.
