With 17 returning starters (including the whole O-line and 9 on defense), we should be favorites to win the conference again. Our biggest loss will be a WR, but hopefully Shropshire and the transfer from Memphis can fill in for Watkins & Mitchell. Spencer is a big loss, but I think McBride will be able to fill his shoes. Jermaine Brown and Stanley will continue to be good backup RBs.

On defense, Smith and Harris are big losses. But we gain Justin Thomas (DL transfer from LSU) and Troy Young (DB/S transfer from Arizona). Someone mentioned recently that Thomas is expected to play on the edge so maybe he can step in for Jordan Smith and Young can step in for Harris.

It would be awesome to host the conference championship in the first year of Protective Stadium. 03-cloud9

Don't forget that EVERYBODY has most of their starters returning, since this year didn't count against their eligibility. So, I would suspect most every player on every team we play, who was a starter and who is not a legit NFL prospect, will be back.

We lost six key players who are planning to test the NFL waters. And another couple of back-ups who had probably received their degrees and decided it was time to move on and go be grown-ups. I would agree with you that we should be in good shape for next year, and hope we can host our first conference championship game in 2021.

That would be nice!! I’m just so concerned that covid will still be around and we won’t be able to fill protective stadium to full capacity .. that would be such a disappointment.

WR is also my biggest concern. Not only do we lose Watkins and Mitchell but also lose Kevin Davis to transfer (per 247). Plus we didn't sign any WRs in December, though I expect we will in February. I would like to see us get a receiver or two from the portal.

My next biggest concern is depth at LB. I know we signed a couple of HS LBs but they will likely need time to develop.

I like our returning RBs but also think we need to sign at least one RB in February.

I think we have the great problem of having too many great running backs and not enough touches to go around. Unless I am totally out of the loop we should have McBride, Skull, Stanley, Wooden, and Pollock all coming back. I would be fine if we started off games with a heavy dose of one back and then started subbing out every 2 plays or so in the second half to have fresh legs gashing some winded defenders. I think that paired with some well executed PA passes would be great.

Not to detract myself, but i also think we should throw at least 20+ passes a game

Yeah, I’ve been wondering if they are going to convert 1 or 2 of the RBs to TE, slot WR, or defense
