We are now fearful of the coaching prowess of Frank Haith and his roster full of 2 and 3 stars. 03-banghead

Not sure your issues with Haith, but he's proven to be a very good coach. Won at Miami, killed it at Mizzou of all places, and very competitive at Tulsa.

They've beaten us once, along with wins vs Houston and Cincy. They're sitting in a 3-way tie for 1st in the conference.

Spare us the "we should blow them out" narrative.

If you think Haith is a good coach, then you should talk to Miami, Mizzou, or Tulsa fans. None of them like him or think he's a good coach. But, maybe you know better than all of them?

He's in season #7 at Tulsa and has one NCAA tourney appearance and a 56% winning percentage at TU.

7 years at Miami and won 39% of his games.

3 years at Mizzou and took a 30 win team down the tubes in 3 years and the last season was vacated.

But yeah, Frank Haith is a great coach and I'm just posting "schtick".

By all accounts, Haith is not a very likeable person or coach. Not endearing to fans or boosters.
Check your facts. He had a winning record at Miami.
What's Mizzou done since he left? Absolutely nothing.
And they've outperformed preseason expectations every year at Tulsa.
We should win, but it's no gimme.

I'm sorry. You are correct about Miami. He won a whopping 56% of his games. The 39% was his conference winning percentage.

At Mizzou, he took over a loaded team and ran the program into the ground in 3 years, from which they have never recovered.

And yes, he has exceeded expectations at Tulsa, based on preseason predictions for the past couple of years. That said, he has one NCAA tourney appearance in 7 years, there. And, has won 60% of his games. 60%. That comes out to 18-12 over a 30 game season.

We would kill to have one of those 23 win team run in the ground seasons.

Not when it's not our fault. If anything it will be 2 here.

Same as us having UCF for 2 games here. They come here for one game and stay in town and play two. We travel to Dallas for one game and stay in town to play two.

Punishing us by playing two on the road makes no sense at all. The game was cancelled because of UCF, so they are playing two here. The SMU game was cancelled because of them, so if anything they will also play two here.

So when you say it's the same, the reality is exactly the opposite of what you are saying.

has nothing to do with punishing anyone. Has to do with lower travel cost and getting all the games in.

SOP is when a game is cancelled then the teams play two at the location where they play again.

UCF played us again here so we play two here. We next play SMU in Dallas so we play two there.

When the conference announced that they were cancelling the ECU @ WSU game in December due to ECU cancelling, they also said that if they couldn't fit it in the schedule they would adjust and play a back to back in February IN WICHITA. So instead of Wichita having to travel to ECU, ECU would lose a home game and come play 2 in Wichita.

So I do think they are actively trying to avoid punishing the team that didn't cancel. With that said, I have no idea how they are going to logistically fit all these postponed games in at this point.

Shhh. Don't tell them. Let them run with it.

I mean, they are really super duper awesome smart.

They had 30 points transfer out and out of the ones that left, 3 were averaging less than a combined 2 points per game. They replaced them with players averaging over 22 points per game. Again, ALL of their top 10 scorers played against Tulsa.

Keep on keeping on, genius.

I especially enjoy it, when losing on the merits, you change the subject. Hint...we all see it. No need to run and hide. Just admit you were wrong. For once. You might learn something about yourself and gain a measure of self-respect.

Or, keep changing the topic, deflecting, or hurling insults.

Or, you could ask the WSU fan on this thread. Maybe he can talk some sense into you? Although, it's unlikely. Even when proven wrong, you just double-down and deflect.

Logistically, it unfortunately probably makes sense for us to play two games there because we have a week between the original game and our next game, while SMU plays on the 23, then us on the 27th and then 4 days later.

I do think it isn't fair at all to give a team the advantage for cancelling a game. It for sure isn't SOP as racecar guy said. That makes no sense at all.

I'm not wrong at all. Their roster is exactly the same as it was when the season started. It isn't depleted at all. I expounded on my post to further prove how dumb your post was.

Speaking of doubling down, you are the guy that insisted that Tubby was an incredible coach; if the players, recruits and fans couldn't see that they were idiots, that he was going to be very successful here, and that anyone who thought he would be fired was an idiot.

So there's that.

Says the guy who thinks Frank Haith is a great coach. Says the guy that think WSU didn't lose a whole host of their roster and coach from last year.

Got it. Thanks for sharing your amazing intellectual prowess.

I said Frank Haith is a great coach? Drinking again? WSU hasn't lost anyone since the start of this year; their roster is NOT depleted, and you STILL think Tubby is a great coach and anyone who doesn't agree is an idiot. Talk about deflecting.

RE: SMU Game on 1/14 - DELAYED???
It will be interesting to see how the AAC handles these postponements. I haven't researched to see if there is indeed an SOP. The UCF game was easy. UCF had the problem. We had already traveled there before having to come home. They are coming here later in the year. So, easy, we get both games.

Temple should be the same - we get both games.

SMU will be trickier. It really is a bit of "punishment" if we have to play both there. Especially if they are allowing fans, and we are back to allowing fans by then. I guess the consolation is that we already got 2 "bonus" home games.

I figure the AAC just gives the extra home game to whomever hosts the final game.

One positive .. if you guys are at all close to making the tourney at the end of the year (still a long way to go). Two games @ SMU will likely be Q1 games while two games at home vs SMU would likely be Q2. With COVID, home vs away matters much less this year. WSU and Memphis feel that pain more than most in the conference.

Go visit the Tulsa, Mizzou, and Miami message boards. Ask what they think of Haith and get back to me when you find any of them that think he's a good coach. He still loves Tubby. According to slowleak, you are an idiot if to this day, you don't think that Tubby is a great coach.

Understanding that a guy isn't cut out to be a D1 head coach is the equivalent to "pissing on a local legend"? Gotcha.

Neither were the previous two we had. One could coach but not recruit and the other could recruit and not coach. We all knew it would take Penny time to learn. Obviously the University has confidence in him.
