If trump hangs around and is viable in 2024, he'll be in his own party and the R's will go the way of the Whigs.

There is ZERO chance that the Senate will convict him. They won't even have time to get it on the Senate floor. You can not have a Senate impeachment of somebody who is out of office. They can not impeach a private citizen.

The rest of your post is just drivel, as usual. Wishful thinking on your part.
I think you are wrong about impeaching him after he leaves office. They can do that.

Nope Dershowitz explained congress has NO jurisdiction over non-office holders, if they did they could impeach political candidates and ban them from holding office before ever being elected.

Being pleased about the impeachment effort and agreeing to convict the president are two different things. McConnell will do what is the best for him and the party, and I don’t see him actually pull the trigger.

McConnell just rejected a immediate trial. This means the impeachment trial, if that ever happens, will take a place after Biden’s inarguration.

They can and the Republicans and banned Trump from ever run frderal office again, and they can purged him from the party. Mitch got what he wanted. Stack the courts with conservative judges.

Turtle Man may be a sleaze like the rest of our DC politicians but he isn't stupid. If he allowed the Senate to vote on removing Trump from office, it would be suicide for the Republican Party.

Damn! Should have impeached Sloe before he ran. Let’s get the house back and start impeaching all democrats so they can never run for office again.
SMH at the complete idiocy of the democrats and their mouthpieces on this very site. Idiots all.

And she took all of 12 days to do two impeachments. The Nixon impeachment hearings, which never even reached the floor of the House, took about 6 months.

Once the Senate Republicans see the polling data (80% R's oppose impeachment), they will reject impeachment as a block.

I don't see how democrats can push this, particularly after January 20, without coming off like a banana republic witch hunt. Then again, their pals in the MSM have covered for them for four years of witch hunting.

If you break that down, it does not include moderate Republicans who are not Trump supporters and Trump supporters are not really Republicans voted in these polls. That poll is misleading.

If McConnell goes forward with this, Republicans would be absolutely destroyed in 2022 and he knows this. You can't give the base of a political party the finger then expect them to rally around the Party the next election. It's not going to happen.
