How are both SBC conferences ranked higher than AACs but AAC is overall higher than SBC?

West was 2nd to last.

Better question, how come the SBC isn’t ranked higher than the B12?02-13-banana

The west side has got to get better, USA, ULM and TxSt need to turn that corner and make some noise, in and out of the conference.

Not sure how I misread that.

How are the offensive and defensive S&P rankings higher than the Pac 12 North but the overall is less?

Not sure how I misread that.

It actually could theoretically happen through the phenomena known as Simpson's Paradox. Probably wouldn't ever happen with with AAC since both of our conferences have 10 teams. But it's cool to know that it technically could happen. In this case though it seems you just misread the chart.

Who wants to start the "Power 6.5" campaign for the Sun Belt East?

I'm optimistic the Jags will turn the corner with new coaching staff, transfers and better recruiting. The 2021 Out of conference schedule sets up nicely to start...

H - Southern Miss... has new coaching staff after going 3-7.
A - Bowling Green... went 0-5.
H - Alcorn State... FCS and has yet to play.
A - Tennessee... went 3-7.

The depth of my trepidation towards the coming season is vast. New coaches, many talented players transferred out to follow Anderson. Jones will be a good coach I think but there's a lot of damage to repair from that Anderson era.

I am trying to be optimistic that CL figures out how to coach the close games in 21 and we win more than we lose. If we can compete again in the SBC East it'll be an exciting 4 divisional games.

H - Southern
H - Liberty (be a good test to where we are early in the season)
A - Southern Miss
A - South Carolina (For some reason I feel Troy has a good chance of a win there)

I do think even reaching 6 wins in SBC East is tough nowadays. Every school in the East is talented with good coaches.

Dam looking at your schedule that 8 game stretch looks baruuttle! Good luck with that! That's a good looking schedule if you like solid college football on the schedule. They just keep coming.

I thought there was no AAC West or East this year because of UConn's departure.

Think they have had a waiver to have a 6 / 5 split for a few seasons until they get a new member.

Michael in Raleigh is correct. No divisions this year or next. The waiver is an allowance to play the top two teams in ccg without a full conference round robin.
Bill must have just not updated his spreadsheets. I'll confess I didn't notice the error before seeing this thread.

That makes sense. Thanks for the clarification!
