I thought it was great coaching to have Beane take the final shot. It appeared to be set up that way and with Hankerson most likely double teamed, Beane had a clear shot.

I thought the Zips double teaming from beyond the arc was asinine coaching. Once we got the ball past the double team we had an open floor 4 on 3. Maybe that is why Lee was able to score 15!

Both Beane and Hankerson said the play was designed to go to the basket but he (Beane) felt it closed up too much and he said he'd had a bit of an off night seeing a few hit off the back iron so he didn't want to push it. He said the shot felt great coming out of his hand and (obviously) he said it felt great to watch it go through knowing it was the last shot.

I think it was a good moral boost for him and he seems like he's needed something to really go right for him.

Agreed. The MAC "West" is pretty bad other than Toledo (which is the best team in the conference) and apparently Ball State looks to be pretty decent. But the Michigan schools are as bad as NIU right now and NIU might actually be trending upward a little.

In our short sample since coach Chapman took over, our team has been fighting hard. Even in the Miami OH game. I would say for once this season, we are trending up. We could be 2-1 since he took over. Ohio was close.

As a matter of fact, yes. EMU is not good. Monty shouldn’t be the only unemployed MAC coach right now.

For a team in a free fall, they just beat the top two teams in the MAC handing Toledo their first MAC loss and BGSU their 2nd!
