The Intense Howling continues, as our heroes, fearing flash backs from 2011 and 2012 scramble out of the way to safety. Every single trip, every single misstep means life or death as they scramble to the frozen lake, well except for Saint333 and Yosef Himself, who seem to think the Wolves are nothing to worry about. In fact, the App State district appears to be thrilled to have a chance to watch all of the other heroes suffer.

First to the lake is Panama, who had a head start and used amazing foot speed to stay ahead of the competion. Upon arrival he immediately jumps onto a rock pile in the center, loads his bow and waits. FrankyP scrambles in Next across the lake, he dodges two arrows from Panama and ducks behind a tree stump on the edge. The High ground remains huge for Panama as he jeers and yells and challenges anyone to dare come at him.

EricSaid comes flying in next and immediately ducks behind a log as two more arrows from a jeering Panama coming flying at him as well. Next enters Ga So Eagle, who takes a shot at Panama himself, before ducking just out of site. However Yosef and Saint have other ideas. they sneak through the outcrop of trees on the edge of lake, ignoring the wolves now nipping at their heels and sneak behind Panama. Loading up his trusty bow, Yosef fires a shot and hits Panama in the leg. stunned, Panama quickly falls off his rock and ducks behind the next blow. Seizing the opportunity YosefHimself rushes onto the ice, but completely missteps and hits a stretch of thin ice and goes sinking into the lake. Scrambling for anything to grab onto he screams for Saint's help. Saint frantically grans a branch from the side, and Yosef grabs on and brings himself up to safety. There is a brief moment of joy before the pack of wolves catch up. Two of them charge at Yosef, one grabbing by the ankle, one by the hand and together they drag him back into the water. For a second the thrashing continues, but then all goes quiet. YosefHimself is mauled by Wolves

Panama quickly uses medicine to nurse his wound and fires another shot at Ericsaid, who continues to sneak forward. The wolves appear to have stopped, circling the remaining heroes. They seem to be encouraging the fight, and GaSoEagle sppears ready to take them up on the offer. Seeing Panama wounded he takes the opportunity and charges. Panama turns and fends off the first blow, but GaSoEagle knows where to aim, and the 2nd swing with the sword is clean and slices Panama in the leg. Shocked, Panama falls to the ground screaming in pain, and Ga So Eagle quickly slits Panama's throat "We have only one true rival" GaSoeagle mutters as he jumps out of the way of another arrow.

Ericsaid, FrankyP, GaSoEagle, and Saint333 remain as the wolves move them closer and closer. Hand to hand combat is now the only option as swords are drawn on all sides. Ericsaid duels saint while FrankyP duels GaSoEagle. The shots are quick, the blades are true, and the fighting continues as the wolves continue to move closer. Ericsaid begins yelling to Saint about how App fans should work together. But Saint's attack are not stopping. Eric blocks attack after attack, trying frantically to draw a truce, but there's no stopping Saint. After a 5th successive block, Eric's sword goes flying away from him. For a brief moment the two stare at each other. But Saint shows no mercy and stabs Ericsaid with the sword "You are no App State fan to me" Saint screams as he watches Eric die. He then picks up his body and throws him to the charging wolves

Saint turns to see GaSoEagle and FrankyP locked in a duel. The two are matching blow for blow. Frankly surprisingly strong with the sword, GaSoEagle surprisingly elusive. Unsure of what to do, Saint charges into the fight as well as the three duel 1 on 1 on 1.

The three remaining heroes jeer at each other. Saint claims superiority as the best team, FrankyP claims superiority as the current best team, and GaSoEagle is taunting Saint about the 2019 season. As GaSoEagle jeers about App missing on a new years bowl game Saint snaps. He charges at GaSoEagle, who appears surprised. Both fall to the ground without their swords and begin fist fighting. Blow after blow is landed as the final battle of the games has turned into an outright brawl. The venom between the two spew as both players attempt to bash the other's head in. Saint taunting about Tyson Summers, GaSoEagle taunting about overall record. However the Saint went for the school of low blows. He aims a kick right for GaSoEagle's groin. The Kick landed true. And Go Eagle was monetarily dazed. Saint grabged a nearby rock and then bashed GaSoEagle's head onto the ice over and over. "You.....Will.....Never.....Be.....Better.....Than....Us Saint screams. After the 5th blow GaSoEagle lay motionless. Saint's stands up, screams in delight, holds his hands in the air. Blood streaming from his nose, battered, bruised, and bled. The App State District has shown itself to be true. Saint screams in delight, in true celebration. For App State is the best in the Sun Belt, and he wants to let the world know...

But his elation will never be felt. For at that moment, FrankyP Stabbed Saint in the back with his sword. Saint freezes, looks down at the blade portruding from his chest and mutters "Worth it. Southern will still never be better than us" And with that Saint closes his eyes and takes his final breath.

The Wolves retreat, the Trumpets Sound. FrankyP screams in delight. "Take that Jamey Chadwell" "UL will always be the true Champions" And the Cajun fight song blares through the arena as a plane drops a ladder to air lift our last remaining hero out of the Arena

FrankyP has won the SBCbbs 1st annual Hunger Games!!!!!

Perhaps Keith Gil will send him his trophy by Fed Ex.

Yosef gets taken down by the same ice where he killed me, poetic justice.

Well this was exciting.

So story time: For the entirety of the first 4 days of this, I simulated every event through a website that allows you to name off 24 random players and it simulates what happens to each of them.

I took some small artistic licensure early. For instance, the description "YosefHimself elects not to help USAjags as he drowns in a lake" turned into Yosef pretty much drowning USajags because it was much more fun. I knew from simulating in advance that Arrowhead was due to kill BamaCajun, so I put those two together the day before to set it up. The computer wanted him to be killed with the spear, but a Slingshot was much more David vs Goliath like.

Where things got difficult was the last day. I wanted the computer to declare a winner, but I had a concern. When I set up the website, I had to plug everyone into an actual male or female from each of the 12 districts in the Novel. If you've ever seen the move or read the book, Spoiler alert, the girl from District 12 wins. I had plugged Ericsaid in as the "Female Tribute from District 12" randomly believing this was a random simulation. However, upon running the "random simulation" 7 separate times for the Final 6, Ericsaid won each time. I even tried manually killing him off and the simulation resurrected him to be the winner. My guess is there was a flaw in the programming that made it too much like the book, rather than just a random fun simulation you can put friends into

So, the Finale results were decided thus:

YoselfHimself was simulated to drown in 6th place. (CPU had finale at 4 players) so I kept that result.

The remaining 5 players were decided by a random draw, with the exception that no matter what happened, one of GaSoEagle and Saint were going to kill the other...because we had to have an App/Southern fight. In the end, Franky was drawn as the winner. Rather than have a climactic final battle, I thought it would be more GS/App style to have the winner of that battle get slain by Frankly while they were celebrating killing the other. In the end the winner of the GaSoEagle/Saint Fight was also chosen by random draw.

Other than the CCU removing himself from the games just before the final battle it was a good summary of 2020.

For the record, I've debated running another simulation using all of our favorite trolls from the CUSA and AAC forums, and letting everyone vote on who kills who.

Probably later though, maybe closer to Summer when we actually get no football fever.

I thought about it, but the simulation had Rokamortis dying off earlier than I had hoped. Had he actually made it to the finale, he would almost certainly would have walked off into the pack of wolves at Final 3 or so.
