As I watch the ESPN Film Room coverage of the CFP Title Game
I'm even more impressed with the coaching intelligence of Dave Clawson. It's obvious by comments he's made he did his homework ahead of this game, a game where he wasn't going to be judged if he just sat back and repeated coaching cliches like Gene Chizik has done all night. If for whatever reason Dabo leaves or is fired I'd want Clawson hired the very next day. He very well might be the pound for pound best coach in the conference today.

Ahh yes....the legend of the great Dave Clawson lives on.......7 years at Wake....0 winning seasons in conference play.
He may be knowledgeable but he's yet to show it on the field.

No one from NC State needs to talk **** about Clawson. He always works with inferior talent and has to make it up mentally. That might not translate at a Clemson or UNC where you can recruit the kid just barely smart enough for college but he might can dial it down for a 400 lb 6-9 linebacker who only has a 95 IQ.
As any NC State or Carolina fan should recognize, it takes depth in the second string to be able to win 5 or more games in the Atlantic, and 8 or more overall. Lack of depth on the two deep is something that a State fan should recognize as an issue.

There's no question Wake is a tough job.....but Jim Grobe did more than Clawson and Clawson gets treated like Chuck Noll around here.
