Marshall has one of the biggest brand names in college football and Brad Lambert is the best they can do?

His record as a head coach is 22-48. What am I missing here?

Honestly, I am surprised that Lambert would want to be a Head Coach again. It seems like being a DC is where he is happy and good at his job.

Lambert was especially terrible after Phil Ratliff passed away. Phil seemed to be the fiu building high school relationships and apparently Brad and Co. just stopped being present at a lot of local high schools. This angered many coaches to the point they were bad mouthing our program and staff on Twitter.

If I were a marshall fan and Brad Lambert was the best we could come up with, I wouldn’t be renewing my season tickets.

Thanks for the input guys. It sounds like we're getting the poor man's version of Doc.

As one recent article suggests, the best coaches for CUSA schools should be young emerging coaches that blossom enough to get hired away at a higher level. Lambert is the opposite of that.

We’ve had ten recruiting classes.

We’ve had 60 three star or better recruits (jc or high school seniors, not transfers).

Brad recruited 28 three stars in 7.67 classes. Healy has had 32 three star players in 2.33.
While I’m not a huge believer in the star system, Brad didn’t try to get quality players.

Not our problem.

He's had two coaching stints at Marshall, you should already be familiar with his style. He'll be Doc 2.0

C-USA needs Marshall to be better than I think Brad Lambert can make you. Don't get me wrong, I have no hard feelings for Lambert, and I hope he surprises me if you hire him. If you could win every game except against Charlotte I could be very happy for you. However, if Charlotte needed a new coach, and I could only pick between Doc and Brad, I choose Doc. Funny that Marshall maybe be going the other way.
