RE: Facebook has crossed the final line for me
My wife and I bailed out on fakebook years ago. It is just people posting photos that make them look happy and/or interesting. U get friend requests from people you couldn’t bother to keep in touch with otherwise. Meanwhile the fakebook cocksvckers data mine you and sell your like and dislikes. Glad to see some people are finally seeing the light.

Zuckerberg. Get woke and go broke a$$hole.

Facebook is totally within their rights to do that. And I'm totally within mine to say banning Ron Paul for his political speech is incredibly stupid and reeks of an extreme political agenda. And I'm also totally within mine to delete all my things on Facebook and shut down my account and leave. And I'm also free to post here about how incredibly stupid that was of Facebook.

None of these items are contradictory. Perhaps you just don't understand freedom very well.

So how is Facebook free to apply double standards to Rand Paul and still enjoy the protections of section 230?

The solution isn't to smash 230, the solution is to replace the existing social media with decentralized federated service platforms. Then there is no central arbiter to control things.

Well, yeah, it was sort of a rhetorical question. The lack of a response proves the point.

WOW! Sort of like Bill Gates bought a 5% stake in Apple before iPhone.

Challenging electoral votes is constitutional and well within the rights of representatives and senators. Dems have done it the last three times GOP won the White House. So Commie-crats now want to make it ILLEGAL to exercise your LEGAL rights.

Sounds like you have some FB "friends" who are reporting you for bullying.

Comprehension isn't your strong suit.
I'm just now seeing the "friends" thing..

Do you think I don't have friends IRL and we're not friends on social media and that I'm friends with random internet strangers?

Don't overthink it. Friends was in quotes because if they're reporting you to FB instead of having the actual discussion with you about whatever you posted, are they truly your friends?

No, nobody is upset over that. People are upset when they are treated differently. Facebook wants to ban a public figure for supposed continued violations then identify the violations.

No, that's not the issue, at least not with me.

We have a 230 exemption that insulates service providers from liability, unless their employees are the source of the damaging content. The legal theory is that they are analogous to common carriers, and are merely providing a conduit. They do have the right and duty to remove any illegal content of which they become aware. But censoring otherwise legal content because of a difference of opinion steps beyond the protected activity, and IMO they should lose their 230 exemption. They can still do it, they can just be sued over how they do it.

Facebook and Twitter have combined to lose $51 billion in market share since they banned Trump.

I don't care how rich you are, that's a lot of money. Investors will start screaming soon.

Get woke go broke.

Yea.. It was like I hit post and immediately the window popped up on my phone. Not enough time for someone to hit report and fill out the report. That takes literally 5 minutes.

"...Now, they can conspire, collaborate, and likely violate antitrust laws, though it is hilarious to assume that a Biden* DoJ will find anything out of sorts about that. The Democrat Party, and far too many Fredocon hacks in the GOP, are bought and paid for. They are happy to auction themselves off in a bidding war between Silicon Valley and Beijing. And there are a few remaining Muh Free Enterprisers who confuse capitalism and monopoly corporatism, and who are happy to surrender their sovereignty if their twisted principles so demand. But there is only so much the silicon villains can do. Eventually, some enterprising entrepreneur in Latvia is going to have a server farm no one in Cupertino can switch off.

They are shooting their wad, as far as the corporate tech censorship goes. It’s a hassle right now, but we will not be gagged...."

"We should unleash the full power of anti-discrimination law against the corporate creeps at the state level. Our current anti-discrimination laws provide a terrific template for new legislation that will ensure that a bunch of boardroom Mussolinis can’t deny us the ability to function in modern society as retribution for disagreeing with the idiotic views of their 29-year-old second wives."
