like I've been saying all along....w/o bats, it doesn't matter how good the pitching is...

there isn't any team worth shite in the history of the sport toting ~.200 team BA.....name one.....I TTT dare ya....

it's about time the hats for bats heated up....if not, we're only a handful of wins > .500 team....

it's much 'mo' funnerer' to watch/play when ya have the confidence to get runs across the plate....it's also easier on the psyche from the mound... 03-wink 04-cheers

This. A lot less pressure pitching when your team can score runs. You don't feel like you have to be as fine and can pitch to contact.

Shepherd just has not been good this year. That injury did far more damage than any of us wanted.

yep....it's a bummer...

I simply don't understand why you start him + leave him in when you know he's in trouble coupled with the strategy in an ooc game (against a team that historically owns our arse) is to toss as many pitchers possible to limit the pitch count going into a 4 game weekend series (which I'm 1000% behind as best method).....................why did he start him + leave him in....

yesterday's loss was two-fold......another cold day at the plate (our achilles heel) + Berry should've given him the hook immediately after walking a couple with a bh/sb sandwiched in between before the 3-run dinger....after the first run crossed the plate, he should've yanked him....

I simply do not understand Berry's decision making when the schematic is to pitch 'em all to save arms, yet leave the starter in when you know he's in trouble out of the gate.....it's contradictory to the strategy....

Really doesn’t matter if they scored 1 or 100 runs if you can't cross the plate during 9. Getting shut out in a mid week game is inexcusable.

this team just isn't that good offensively due in large part to the youth of the team. They'll be top three in the conference and be a 2 or 3 seed in MSU or Ole Miss' regional and lose 2 out of three games. 35-36 wins so the same ole ho hum season where we win one game in a regional and go home.

That ship has sailed long ago. however the football program seems to have some new found energy so maybe they get it together this year and look respectable. the basketball team is a dumpster fire and will remain one until the facilities get better and we can recruit better players.

Had worse facilities from 2009 to 2014 and had respectable basketball seasons with talented players. At one point, we have to stop making excuses and realize we hired a coach who hadn’t won’t anywhere he’d been solely because he’s “one of us”.

no doubt that is correct as well. I was referring to our current situation as it stands. I would love an actual good hire for the basketball program. Ladner is a good guy and decent coach just not a D1 coach.

A solution is currently being studied in the TTT Lab Annex of the Bower Academic Center.

I only call'em as I see'em....and I can assure you my friends will attest I am one of our harshest critics out there...but I don't get all giddy when we lose just to make a point.04-cheers

I believe I stated we have "some issues" (which were unfortunately highlighted Wed nite), but baseball is light years ahead of football and basketball (which may not be saying much) and is NOT ALL NEGATIVE.

USM is where it is not only because of dumb (and dumber) administration choices, but also because so many of our "fans" spend more time rejoicing losses than doing something about it.

That is all....
