Just in the sports world The Celebration Bowl has been a big deal for the two D1 HBCU conferences. Some reshuffling of conferences between HBCU members has also sparked national news. Also the attention on HBCUs in the cultural and political world has hit a fever pitch. Howard graduated the VP. SCSU graduated the US House Majority Whip.

They have three four stars and five three stars...that is crazy. If they can coach they will dominate the FCS in a few years if that continues.
So, what is the story on how Jackson State, historically a bad team, managed to sign a class like that? I know nothing about it, so I'm genuinely asking. In generally, if a 4 start athletes falls to FCS (or even G5 for that matter), there are other issues involved. Questionable academics? How many of these guys will actually see the field?
I'm not wishing ill on Jackson State, and I'm sure this class will buy them more wins in the SWC but unless there is a significant change in coaching staff a lot of that talent will not be realized on the field. Should be interesting to watch.
The change in coaching staff is how they got this talent. Deion Sanders is now the HC.
It's Prime Time at Jackson State.

Thanks for the responses. I had just done some searching myself and saw where Deion Sanders had been hired. That does explain it to some degree. It should definitely be interesting to watch them this coming season.

Its not surprising that Jackson State has a successful recruiting class. But the question is can they keep them? In a given recruiting class a certain percentage of athletes never see the field for various reasons. Many times when FCS Schools get players at those ratings, there are grade issues that have to be worked through and many end up at JUCO's.
AState had a recruiting class several years back in which I think literally one player played any significant snaps over his career, and it was supposedly one of our better classes.
