The was a beautiful assist by Morgan-Elliott to the wide open player for the layup - CC Hooks from Ohio.

Defense was pathetic, but if the shooting had been even just below average, the game would be so much closer. Unfortunately, the Rockets would have to fly to Antarctica to warm up their shooting.

First half simply being out done by superior athletes. Hoping the Ball State beat down hasn't destroyed this young team's confidence. Playing with heads down looking around at one another with virtually no energy. Sad sight.

Most of the triple attempts are not coming from a set shooter. These shots appear to be mostly last option. No drives with kickoff passes. OU's zone has disrupted the Rockets offense.

What I am thinking is that this team desperately misses Nitra Perry and her defensive coaching and schemes. Not convinced that anyone of the present set of assistants can fill that role.

The scout of OU has been to not guard Hooks when she has the ball on the perimeter, and use her defender to stop any drives into the paint. But, you then have to play tight on the other OU players, cause they can all drain the threes.

UT was doing the 1st part of that in the half (it worked Hooks is 1-8 from 3) but they were unable to live up to the other parts of that equation.

Wiard hasn't made a shot (but at least is 5-6 from the line). And Lockett the only player to hit a 3.

Rebound differential is not that bad 28-23 OU, considering UT has missed 24 shots.

If the Rockets can get to the line 75 more times, they might be able to make a dent in this.

Rockets have made 16 FTs and 7 FGs. Some of that is OU's D, but mostly it's just no one can hit a shot from anywhere on the court.

Shooting is god awful! Very little in natural looking strokes. Hard to watch.

Small victories, as the Rockets won that quarter 20-19.

Also Mickayla Perdue getting a lot of minutes and is making the most of them, she has 7 and has looked better on defense than some of the other Rockets.

They should have started the game with this press.

Just when they have a little run of playing good ball on both ends, they get all completely sloppy.

85-66 OU final. Reality of the team's youth hits pretty hard.

Don't expect the shooting to be that bad too often, but the defense has got to get better and get better fast.

Rebounding and points allowed in the paint. Unless and until these are addressed the season will not go well for the Rockets.

Perdue got a chance to show a little of her scoring ability, although she also had a bunch of TOs from just lazy passes. If she can get up to speed on the other parts of the game, she will be competing for minutes by the end of the season I think.

Mikonowicz and Morgan-Elliott did not have good games at all, especially on defense. Wiard can't go 0-fer the field if the Rockets are to win games.

In a tough part of the schedule for sure! Today there was a little promise off the bench from Idowu and Perdue. But Mikinowicz and Morgan-Elliott have had back to back difficult games. And today Wiard wasn't much of an offensive force. Good news is that Ohio is one of two MAC teams we only play once in the regular season. The youth of the team is more evident against the better MAC teams.
