What year is he? I expect Hatcher to be Day 1 starter unless you think Butch will run 2 QBs this upcoming season.

(RS) Junior. He and Hatcher have similar career completion %, but Blackman was doing it at the P5 level. He was best his 1st season in Jimbo’s system, which is probably similar to what Butch wants. Poor guy had 3 HC’s and 4 OC’s at FSU. I think it’ll be tough for Hatcher to beat him out.

Some of our fans are critical of Hatcher, but Layne Hatcher is an over-achiever that always seems to work out based on his work ethic, and determination. Great if Blackman can take the job, but I won't be surprised if Hatcher is still the starter at the end of the day.

He’s got 5 inches on Hatcher, plus, he’s gotta be a little bit more mobile.

That gives App three P5 transfers. Duke, Stanford, and Notre Dame.

We can never have enough as our offense chews up RB's. Harrington missed most of '19 and the last 6 games this year with the same torn ACL. Says he will be back, but I'm not holding my breath. Back-up Marcus Williams was hampered with various injuries most of the year and is transferring to LA Tech. Peoples played 1/2 of the opening game in '19 before being lost for the year. It took him the better part of this year to get back into game shape and trust the knee was OK. First start was 8 games into the year at Coastal because nobody else except true freshmen Noel and Castle, a converted OLB, were available.

We technically have 4. We got a guy from UNC as well. He wasn't as big of a deal though.

App also gets a WR from UNC-CH but he’s just a walk on from my understanding.

It’s a slippery slope with transfers, in the right numbers they can help your program, but if you start bringing in too many then you run the risk of pissing off High School coaches which could have a negative effect moving foward, plus, what do you say to a kid who redshirted and was promised more playing time and now watches a transfer take his position? Only thing I hope Clark does is not guarantee a transfer playing time before he even makes it to Boone, if he earns it, fine, but if he gets beat out by a player already on the team then so be it.
There is nothing wrong with bringing in transfers. If they are the right kind of transfers. One and done type players, outside of QB is a bit iffy. But taking transfers that have multiple years to learn the system could be just as good as landing a big time HS signee.
Especially ones looking to get closer to home, or coaching changes and P5 programs. Transfers who have been in disciplinary troubles will likely not pan out. It has everything to do with how well your staff can integrate that player into his system.
We have taken a lot of transfers into this class, I’m not sure how much I like them yet. But most of them will have 3 years to play or more. So in that aspect it is a way to build quality depth with players that were highly thought of coming out of HS.
I'm highly discouraged about your QB transfer. He should leave ASAP and go to Tulane or something.
Lol...I’m not sure he beats out the guys behind Levi Lewis.
If he's one first down better than our last one we don't care. As it relates to ULL. LOL!

Harvard of the South
Rob Best referred to App as the Harvard of the Hills. Admissions would never gave the coaches a break on entrance requirements. Had to meet the same as all incoming students.
