I ran two Japanese restaurants in my younger years. One of the funnier "secrets" that many of them have is their spicy mayo recipe. They won't tell you what is in it under the guise of it being a special recipe that they have to keep in house at all costs. That isn't exactly the reason...
5/8 Mayonnaise
1/4 Ketchup
1/8 Sriracha Sauce
Aside from sushi and maki, it is delicious with a lot of other stuff.

Haha, I am 100% sure that you can add mustard to it. IF I went that route, I would add a tiny bit of brown sugar as well...just a smidge.

agree...only I'd add coconut sugar or date sugar lol
Sriracha is not a bad flavor in cupcakes btw...It mostly gave them a lil tangy heat.

Oops. Sorry, I thought that I had logged into the Tiger message board. I didn’t realize that I entered the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook site by mistake.
Bon appetite.

I've made this for years using the 3-2-1 method:
3 parts mayo

1 part siracha
same thing for the most part, just easier to remember.
And i make my own sushi.

Does a sushi have a face?
I'm more interested in the hot mustard. I've pretty much got it with dijon mustard & horseradish.

you folks must be more richer than me
good sushi is expensive, but it's simple to make at home...
get you a decent bamboo sushi roller, some rice, some seaweed sheets, and some ingredients to add (like tuna, shrimp, cream cheese, avocado, bbq, etc)...and you are off to the races....it won't take long to get the hang of making a quality sushi roll that doesn't cost $10 per roll.....closer to $1 per roll.
i've developed a tasty sushi roll that's a hit at gatherings.....i call it the The Devil's Sushi....finely cut bbq brisket and Famous Dave's Devil Spit (or spicy topping of choice) instead of the normal fish options...

There are jalapeno peppers in cornbread. Cupcakes are in the same family, so there's no reason why it wouldn't work.

Very cool, me too. It's surprisingly not that difficult once you get the hang of it.
Certainly not if you have past experience with a similar type of operation.
The reason why I say that is because you don't even really need the sushi roller in the beginning. Paving the entrance of a Japanese restaurant (or any entrance) was much more difficult, but I learned how to do both by watching videos.
The sushi roller is what is intimidating to many. Find seaweed that isn't brittle and practice rolling sushi without the bamboo roller. It won't quite be as tight as with the roller, but who cares? The texture of a larger bigger roll than you would have at a restaurant is also nice. The other challenge is figuring out how to portion the ingredients; what size to cut each. That you can easily do by watching a video.
I taught myself how to make a lot of that stuff. Dumplings that cost a dollar each can be made from scratch for maybe 15 cents worth of dough, pork, chicken, beef, shrimp, etc. The easiest thing to make is spring rolls. You get the round sheets of rice paper, dip them in water for 5 seconds and then wrap them around your ingredients.
All of this is out of necessity that started out in my twenties and thirties. I have a massive appetite and it was costing me a fortune to eat.

I like my sushi battered and fried.
But I do wonder about Stammers ratios there - they only add up to 7/8. What is the mysterious last 1/8 ingredient???
