That’s so naive. Trust me, people live there.

Well, except for Wyoming, where there are more Prairie Dogs than people...

Well those prairie dogs better get some fires started if we want to see them from a plane.

I found the people in SD to be very nice, down to earth. Spent the night in Brookings, agree after the open vistas in the state, it seemed big. Not a fancy place, but comfortable, and seemed quite safe. Despite not seeing lights from an airplane that show the density, I would feel more safe on those streets than in Hartford, Trenton, Baltimore, etc.......

I’d love an excuse to visit out there. Maybe I’ll start a new thread, “Should W&M join the Summit League ....”

CAA/FCS FOOTBALL
I love the Black Hills in the NW corner of SD.

I’d take them over the crowded, dirty and dangerous cities of the NE 19 out of 20 times.

Actually it would be the Missouri Valley and answer a solid no. We would never exceed .500 in either football or basketball.

That said, I would love to see W&M schedule a Valley team in football.

Come on. The Missouri Valley is a very good mid major/FCS conference. But, to say we would never exceed .500 in basketball or football is a bit of an exaggeration. We recruit many of the same kids. Sure, this year's offerings may have struggled. But I guarantee that some of our past teams certainly would have competed well in that conference and I see no reason that we couldn't do so again. Would we consistently win? Maybe not. But we don't consistently win in the CAA either.

Several years back(2009 I think) I attended a W&M play-off game at So. Ill. Typical of folks in the Midwest, they couldn't have been nicer, even when we won.

As I have travelled around the country, my experience has been that folks in the middle of the country are most often friendly, earnest and genuine.

Indiana State is a full-time member who plays football. They just chose not to play football this past year. South Dakota should be on your Football Only list.

My general experience has been that just as long as the school I am visiting isn't an arch rival of the team I am there to support, fans everywhere have been very welcoming. I go on a road trip each year with buddies who went to WVU. Each trip folks invite us to their tailgates, share their food and beverages and want to talk football. Basketball isn't quite the same since there isn't tailgating, but as long as I am not sitting in the student section, must of the people have been nice and just ask questions about our team. I have been to way more W&M road games then I have games in Williamsburg.

Agree, genuine is a good word. Solid people by and large. Saluki fans were really nice, I recall one really "nice" lady who greeted us in the parking lot in the
AM (kickoff was 11 am) and was pretty well fortified already. I still have the paper stat sheets that the staff handed out to fans with quarter/half stats. Cool idea.

Delaware beat Jacksonville State to make the semi finals.

Sam Houston State beat North Dakota State, so no 4 peat for them.

2 of the final 4 are full member CAA teams. Yeah, CAA is dead and we should join the PL.

Believe we're going to see an all CAA final in Frisco. Tribe schedule next fall is brutal.

Nice that we have two teams in the semis.

Both look slow. Delaware got drilled. JMU unimpressive so far.

JMU enjoyed a 97.2% win probability in the 3Q then...poof.

RE: CAA/FCS FOOTBALL
We always complain about game coaching decisions...well, the JMU coach yesterday totally mismanaged the entire second half with one bad
decision after another: clock management, play selection, player personnel. All the bottom of the barrel.

Take a look at the JMU Board.
