App -2 o/u 131. Same as last night. Both have good coaches that will make adjustments.

Still don’t understand where Kendall Lewis has gone for App, MIA.

Yeah, they should have put 5 seconds back on the clock. To all our friends at UALR, I’m sorry it unfolded that way.

Wrong. The vast majority of Louisiana fans are not defending this. Apples and oranges comparison.

How are the fans being hypothetical? I can see the issue with the staff and SBC...but not the fans. Again...apples and oranges comparison. It’s not like we are defending ducking out of the football CCG.

You are correct - apples and oranges situation.

On one hand you have a situation where both teams had to cancel games due to COVID issues. The Cajun fans accuse the other team of "ducking" ignoring their own issus as well as the issues surrounding college football amidst a global pandemic. Cajun fans calling for a forfeit and accusing the conference and Coastal of a conspiracy. The AD even stokes the flames of the conspiracy theory on local radio.

On the other hand is a situation where the Cajuns staff directly interfere with the other team. The coach quickly gets the players to the locker room. Cajun fans response is tepid at best.

Just replay the last 6 seconds before tonight’s game. Normally, you never have a convenient chance to fix something like this. But here it is... same home court, same players in lineups... Just start tonight with a redo, then break 20 minutes before game 2.

Let’s see if ULaLa offers, being of such high moral ground and all.

I’m giving them credit for actually being smart enough to realize the opportunity exists, I’d guarantee at least one AD employee on their side probably has said “Hey, we could always just redo... umm, am I gonna get fired for this?”

This is their chance to show what top notch gentlemen they are, or, say to their “ducking” Coastal friends, “Hold my beer...”

While I agree that play should have been stopped by the officials, I’ll use a line by your fans... “Well, it is the conference’s decision. Not ours. Sorry.”

So then you are as of this very moment, completely understanding now, and in agreement, and no longer will tolerate your own fan base suggesting otherwise, regarding the football events?

Or you’re a hypocrite.

There’s a chance to fix it. Man up.

The way this was handled truly sucks. Those officials should not work any more conference games this year. While the do-over approach is a cool idea, I don't think anyone on this board can make that decision. Telling someone to man up over this on a message board is kind of a total waste.

This is a dumb take, along with the one the Coastal guy posted above.

Accidents happen. It’s on the crappy officiating crew, and yes they were crappy, to make it right. They should have blown play dead immediately, added a few seconds on the clock, and had LR take the ball out at the time line. That didn’t happen.

I was at the game last night and was not happy with the way the officials allowed it to end. I even made a comment about how Marlin would have lost it way worse than the LR coach if the situation was reversed. The good thing for LR is we play 3 more times, and they have an opportunity to let their frustrations out on the court.

Why does ULL cheating surprise anyone at this point? Maybe the person that turned the lights off was the same one taking the ACT for those recruits.

I was there as well, and told my wife that the officials should have stopped the game as soon as the lights changed and had LR take the ball out with 5-6 seconds on the clock. Once you let it go to the end it gets more difficult.

In the end, it's an official call which the Cajun players or coaches have no control over. I'm sure every other teams coach would have went to the officials after they called the game and said "lets go back and replay the end", right?

The person controlling the lighting should be removed from the position as that can't happen.

The officiating may not have anything to do with UL, but the lighting guy has everything to do with UL. That guy should be removed from that responsibility. Glad this happened at your school and not mine. 03-phew

RE: Belt basketball 1/8-1/9
Personally, I’m not going to accuse of cheating. Everyone at least knows that it was wrong and it was mishandled.

At this point, I’m more upset that the refs didn’t the do the right thing and stop everything once the lights went off. We had a similar situation in one of our women’s games a couple years ago against Texas St. The lights went off and the officials stopped play and waited to continue play until the lights turned back on. That’s how it should’ve been handled and the league agrees in their recent statement.

Would I like to redo those 5 seconds? Yes. Will that happen? Nope but there are many more conference games to worry about.

I hope for our guys to come out extra motivated and win today. I view this conference schedule like the mlb or nba playoffs. Sweep at home and split on the road is successful.

Imagine equating one program’s A/V guy flickering a light (and the fanbase agreeing it was Busch league) to a program canceling a CCG for covid levels that other programs played with many more cases on the same weekend (and that fanbase backing the company line forever).

Even my runon sentence isn’t as ridiculous...

Imagine being willfully ignorant of the fact that positive tests do not include the contact tracing that resulted in an entire position group being quarantined but being completely ok with another team's staff affecting the outcome of a game. Oh wait, you don't have to imagine - you just did it.
