FAU weekend
Friday and Saturday 7:00: FAU (5-4). ESPN+
Results to date: S Alabama (66-68); Jacksonville St (50-60); Mobile College (83-41); Fla National (128-64); N Florida (79-77); Fla Memorial (112-49); Stetson (69-78); Fla College (107-72); JMU (70-79).
Last game: JMU opened the game 12-2, but FAU regained their composure to tie @ 25 and trailed 25-29 @HT. JMU then opened the second half 15-2 and pushed the lead to 21 with 8:00 to play. FAU hit a flurry of 3s to cut the lead to seven, but JMU hit FTs and won 79-70. Jailyn Ingram led the Owls with 20 pts (6-13 FG, 4-5 3s, 4-4 FT), 17 in the second half. Kenan Blackshear had 14 pts off the bench (7-9 FG) and Michael added 10.

Starters (JMU)
F Jailyn Ingram (6-7 220 Sr). 23.7 min.; .473 FG (22-40 3s); .813 FT; 6.0 RB; 1.1 steals; 15.4 pts
F Karlis Silins (6-11 230 Jr). 18.8 min.; .593 FG (3-11 3s); .650 FT; 3.4 RB; 8.9 pts
G Bryan Greenlee (6-0 195 So). 25.8 min.; .459 FG (21-41 3s); .615 FT; 2.1 RB; 1.2 steals; 10.8 pts

G Michael Forrest (6-0 175 Jr). 21.1 min.; .405 FG (19-56 3s); .523 FT; 2.4 RB; 1.1 steals; 9.6 pts (3 starts)
Bench
F Kenan Blackshear (6-6 215 So). 23.0 min.; .458 FG (7-21 3s); .792 FT; 4.2 RB; 1.9 steals; 8.9 pts (7 starts)
G Everett Winchester (6-7 215 Sr). 20.5 min.; .482 FG (2-5 3s); .556 FT; 2.9 RB; 1.3 steals; 6.0 pts (7 starts)
G Nicholas Boyd (6-3 170 Fr). 14.3 min.; .442 FG (4-15 3s); .625 FT; 0.9 RB; 5.2 pts
G Johnell Davis (6-3 205 Fr). 13.7 min.; .500 FG (3-15 3s); .857 FT; 4.2 RB; 1.1 steals; 4.8 pts
F Giancarlo Rosado (6-8 240 Fr). 10.0 min.; .484 FG (1-3 3s); .600 FT; 2.3 RB; 4.4 Pts
F Madiaw Niang (6-9 225 Jr). 10.8 min.; .333 FG; .833 FT; 2.8 RB; 1.8 pts
F Dardan Kapiti (6-10 215 Fr). 7.7 min.; .700 FG; .000 FT; 3.0 RB; 2.3 pts
FAU has shot well, especially from 3 and has big advantages in ORBs and POT. However, their offensive stats are skewed by the level of their competition. Very deep team with good size inside. Team excels in steals and pushes the ball on offense but can also be slow to get back into defensive position. Starting lineup in state of flux and coach suggested more changes may be in order after the poor showing vs JMU.

Seriously. Four of them are NAIA and I only know that because I had to look them up.

RE: FAU weekend
I think your stats might only include D1 games.
They have a 3P% overall of 29%, which is almost wort in college basketball. They can't shoot a lick (65% from FT and 48% from 2)
They don't turn the ball over a ton and grab a lot of offensive rebounds.
Their defense is possibly the worst in college basketball
KenPom gives us about an 88% chance to win each game. So we have roughly a 80% of sweeping. (maybe a little less if you consider the odds of winning back-to-back vs someone are lower)
We gotta be able to beat them.

Not sure how their stats could be worse if you include the NAIA games. They beat those guys by 30 to 70 points. But yeah, they don't look good and we absolutely need to sweep.

4 losses: .388 FG (.262 3s); 16.0 POT/g (+3.0/g)

RE: FAU weekend
Is Alexander doing the ESPN broadcast?
ESPN must not have sent their own announcers so we're hearing Alexander and Manns radio call.

RE: FAU weekend
Espn+ always does the radio overdub. Never has dedicated announcers. Good showing by the Monarchs so far. Getting beat on the boards.

RE: FAU weekend
We have the turnovers under control. And X has reappeared.
But those might be as much a function of FAU.

RE: FAU weekend
X having his best game of the last two years. Tight contest. We may need it.
