It really does seem like the entire Chicago State athletic program and all student athletes would be better served and more competitive at a lower level than D1. CSUB and UMKC were basically dead to me when each announced their WAC departures, but I would genuinely hope for and celebrate a CSU athletics restructuring and rebirth at a different level of collegiate athletics. I think the kids deserve to be in a situation where they can have success, and the long-time Chicago State fans deserve to root on competitive teams.

I feel the same. Bake and KC can kick rocks. But I do wish there was some way Chicago could find success in D1. Leaving could end up being another blow to the institution. The general public may see it as yet another sign they are in trouble and not understand the rationale.
