Gus Frerotte - 15 year NFL career. Had heart and grit.

ECU has had no HOFs yet but has produced quite a few Pro Bowlers & or First-team All-Pro players over the years including: Jeff Blake, Robert Jones, David Garrard, Dwayne Harris, Earnest Byner, Chris Johnson, Rod Coleman, Linval Joseph, Vonta Leach, Tony Collins, etc.
Honorable Mention goes to CFL HOF return specialist Henry 'Gizmo' Williams. While he only had a limited NFL/ USFL career, he holds every return record in CFL history. His Memphis Showboats teammate Reggie White coined his nickname Gizmo. He was voted one of the CFL's Top 50 players (#25) of the league's modern era by Canadian sports network The Sports Network/TSN.

Back to great coaches...
Priefer's wikipedia entry informed me that his first NFL job was coming in behind...Frank Gansz.
Frank Gansz is not in the NFL HOF, but if you get "great NFL Coach" more specific to "great NFL Special Teams Coach" he has to be in that discussion. Very influential special teams coach and two-time NFL ST Coach of the Year.
He played at Navy and graduate in the class of 1960 and in addition to his NFL coaching career (which included some brief, less-than-successful head coaching), he also coached at SMU and Navy.
The Navy-SMU series has been played for the Frank Gansz Trophy since 2009.

Deangelo Williams from Memphis was a special player for the Panthers, but because he split time with James Stewart, he didn’t put up the kind of numbers he could of as a featured back. Still, he led the NFL in rushing TDs twice.

No - they're not intended to signify ranking. It doesn't matter what order they are listed in. I hope people enjoy this.

When it is all said and done though Travis Kelce might surpass him. He is having a HOF career for the KC Chiefs. He was second in receiving yards this year, the first TE to accomplish this feat since 1980.
If Travis Kelce plays 3,4 more years with production that is close to the last few years, he will be the greatest tight in in NFL history, in my opinion. Even if he retired this year, he is HOF.

WSU has only ten alumni that played five years or more in the NFL. (Parcells never played in the NFL, he was cut by the Lions in the pre-season)
Jumpy Gaithers is certainly one of the best. He was 6'7", 300 pounds, and played 1984-1996. He is the last WSU players in the NFL. He had a "forklift" move. Apparently it made some folks cry. I can't find any highlights, but here is a description:
Second might be Bob Long who played on three NFL champions at Green Bay and two Super Bowl champions. (two are the same year)
At 6'3", 205 he was big wide receiver for the time. He came from Western PA which was a kind of a WSU pipeline along with New Jersey (Parcells)
