Was thinking the same thing. I'll have to research, but pretty sure someone referred to him as "limited".

MBB 1/5/21 Game #8: Florida Atlantic v JMU @ 4p
When the other team gets momentum ....we resort back to isolation offense and team ball be damned

I would love to know why Amadi is seeing somewhat limited minutes when he EASILY the most efficient scorer on the team
He need to be seeing 10 field goal attempts per game MINIMUM

I’m not sure how anyone could watch him play and not come away realizing that he is gifted special and a difference maker on the court. He may be undersized but he has “it”.

Tough to disagree. 42 shots on the season and he's made 32 of them (76%). Wooden fed him a couple of nice assists. Great to see that kind of frontcourt passing.

Take the win and get ready for the real conference games. I’m still not sure what the best lineup is, but a for a time in the second half the team showed sparks.
It is probably the last OOC game, but could schedule one more if the Dukes play the max 18 games in the CAA.
It feels like the Towson series postponement was a blessing in disguise as the team had 2 more games to work out the rough spots. Elon sux and there is no reason the Dukes can’t beat them at home. Perhaps even a revenge mindset for getting knocked out of the Keener-Rowe round last year by Elon.
Or how about triple revenge. The Dukes got swept in 3 games by Elon

Coach By said in the postgame what I think are the perfect words. He described the team as still playing helter skelter.

Good win (any D1 win) after the MEAC meltdowns.
FAU has only one D1 win, so that 4-4 record is misleading. Only 1 D1 win....rest were NAIA.

Yep, and it wasn't just because of this game... He has been around 70%+ all season.
I've been screaming on social media nonstop since our first game we need to get him the ball more.

RE: MBB 1/5/21 Game #8: Florida Atlantic v JMU @ 4p
I like the line up of Strickland at point, Lewis, Wooden, Amadi and Jacobs. Wooden and Jacobs looked really good together yesterday. Their were several good passes between them that resulted in easy baskets. Amadi and Strickland are energy guys. This lineup makes us stronger in the paint, which will lead to more easy baskets and allow us to win the rebounding battle.
Morse and Hodge sub in at guards. Christmas and Edwards sub in at the forwards. That is your nine man rotation. We don’t have another five beyond Jacobs. Morse, Hodge and sometimes Christmas provide guys who can shoot from outside and open things up for Edwards and Christmas to drive to the basket for easy or contested layups.
The remaining three players on the roster are Mensah, Harvey and Taylor. Mensah isn’t an option for more than a couple of minutes each game right now. Harvey and Taylor seem to be the odd men out this season. Harvey plays decent defense and has a nice looking shot. It just doesn’t go in very often. It is a shame because he has the size and length that fits perfectly in Byington’s system.
Lewis is playing too many minutes. I would like to see him down to 30-32 minutes a game so that he is fresh for the stretch run.

I think there is something pretty special when matt and vado are on the floor at the same time. Both are really great scorers. I dont think its option 1a, but its a pretty good change of pace i think. I am kind of down on hodge right now as he is shooting so poorly - I hope he changes my mind.

Who else is afraid that because of new transfer rules, Amadi will be wearing a different color uniform next season?
Isn't Amadi from Greenville, Clemson's backyard? I hope Amadi is angry and anti Clemson b/c Clemson did not offer out of HS.
Amadi could be a 18/10 stat stuffer as a freshman against CAA teams by the end of this season.

RE: MBB 1/5/21 Game #8: Florida Atlantic v JMU @ 4p
I agree Amadi has been Super impressive as a Freshman and is filling the role that needs to be filled at the rim on offense. In 8 games I haven’t seen him take any shots outside of 2 feet and that is okay. Dunks and layups. There are too many guys taking shots already without trying to probe the interior.
A good model for him to mimick right now is Devontae Cacok from UNCW. Cacock developed a 15’ jumper later in his career, but initially was only a dunk and layup guy that won with athleticism and pure energy. That is how he broke the NCAA record for FG% At 80% as a Sophomore by only taking the highest percentage shots at the rim. The only way to increase his offense was to become a stronger offensive rebounder and live off of the trash.
Maybe Amadi can add some thickness and get a trunk like Cacock so he can rebound with the bigs. Right now he does lead the team in offensive rebounding, but 3rd in total rebounds. If he develops that even more and gets better on the defensive rebounding we have a frontcourt stud to build around.
Reminds me of JYD in that he is starting his first year and he came in with a chiseled body ready for college ball.

Not seeing the energy there. The other thing is that it seems like we sub out waaaay too much. We must have had 37 different 5-man combos in this 1st half.
Depth is good thing in modern day, mid-major basketball. A deep bench that can hold their own is a tool that not only keeps the legs fresh but harder for other teams to scout. The part where coach earns his money is finding the right combo's. It's also a good recruiting tool; none of that "we don't play freshmen" nonsense, you earn your playing time. Something Coach Rowe never seemed interested in, developing a bench, playing guys that earned/deserved playing time.
I didn't see the game but sounds like they had some great moments, glad to see.
