UCONN won’t be in a power conference not because of the school (state flagship with a big enrollment), market (#32 Hartford), or budget (over $90MM). They won’t get in due to a lack of commitment to FB. Plain and simple.

So why do you want UConn in a conference based in North Carolina? Greensboro isn't anywhere near Storrs.

I want UCONN (and ALL college athletics) in a regional conference so that the athletes can achieve what they're supposed to be achieving: getting an education.

Yes unfortunately, I agree football players and men's hoopsters think they're gonna be pro stars. But I don't think that's a numerical majority of athletes at D-1 colleges. The system has deluded these guys into not having a plan B.

One thing you can be sure of, regardless of system, is that the SEC and the MAC are not going to have the same # of automatic bids to any expanded playoffs.

People always feel that way until they lose to one of those teams then all of a sudden a new wave of excuses come out. How about FBS schools are treated like FBS schools and we move on from the G5 doesn’t belong debate.

No but Storrs is comparatively in range to Chestnut Hill, Syracuse and Pittsburgh.

I've never heard the location of a conference's headquarters used as an argument against (or for) a team's inclusion.

There are arguments against UConn in the ACC, but that's not one of them.

There are arguments against UConn in the ACC, but that's not one of them.

Greensboro is the defacto center of the conference, with the actual geographical center being just north of it, but OK. I'll play your game.

So at best they'll have one regional game at home and one away every year. At worst they'll have a regional game either at home or away every year. In reality there's only one scenario where they have any regional games on the regular because nothing about the eight hour road trip to Pittsburgh is "regional". Might as well claim UVA is in the region as well since they are eight hours away too. 14 hours to Clemson. 16 to Georgia Tech. 19 to Florida State. 22 to Miami. What's regional about that?
