Inform Florida, Vanderbilt and Texas A&M they have open offers with the guarantee of staying financially "whole" with the move.

The SEC schools are probably a no, but the offer is there.

To hell with the AAU talk, it could just be a bluff leaked to throw others off!?!?!

FSU, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Virginia, NC, Duke, Syracuse, Pitt, Kansas and Iowa state.

If we can get Texas A&M, another Texas school should be invited, i'm all for Texas Tech. Texas A&M is bluffing with their all in vote with Texas to the SEC. They just want to make sure the Longhorns are fully invested in he SEC before they bolt for the BIG, lol!

Once complete, the geographical footprint resembles a hand doing the "horns down". Texas A&M couldn't be happier.

Hey you Buckeyes would fit the SEC quite well. Pickup Penn State, N.D., and FSU and make it 20!

That would be one hell of a conference, JR. I just can't stomach having ESPN with total control of tOSU. They spoke loud and clear when they undervalued Ohio over a decade ago, haven't forgot that or their non-sports related rants and BS.

I know your post is in jest but I would hate to have Vanderbilt in the Big Ten. They seem closer to giving up on sports than they do trying to compete.

But I agree with the idea to throw out the AAU mandate. I used to care but don't anymore. I just don't see why athletic competitions have anything to do with academics and the more that college sports unravel from the amateur level to semi-pro/full pro, the less academics matter.

Give me Clemson, Florida State, Notre Dame, UNC, and perhaps Georgia Tech, Miami, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and/or Duke (non-football).

Yes, now is not the time to be restraining this with an AAU requirement. Too many good schools, not AAU, that would fit in nicely with this conference.

RE: B1G Expansion & Questions
Penn State in the SEC? I'll try to be as respectful of the SEC as I can here. Penn State would be horrible geographical and cultural fit in the SEC if it was just them, Ohio State, and Notre Dame in a 20 team mostly Southern conference. Oklahoma and Texas fit the SEC way better than Penn State, Ohio State, and Notre Dame would. Granted if you give Penn State enough money over the Big Ten, I can be convinced to change my mind. I would definitely be against Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, or even Illinois joining a "southern" conference. If the SEC wants to rebrand as more of a national conference that would be different. If they invite maybe 8-10 Big Ten schools that would be different. Let's be real here, Penn State in the SEC feels the same as Alabama in the Big Ten.

If there's any serious doubt about whether Delany is playing any role in future realignment then doubt no more.

I'm feeling one of two ways:

1. What took him/the Big Ten so long? Clearly needed him last year.

Or

2. I hope he wasn't part of the shut down, restart joke that went on last year. If so, maybe we're doomed anyway.
