Arrrrgh. Does any team in the country have less games in than us? I hate this crap.

RE: WAC Play Begins This Week!
I don't think Dixie Tarleton aren't considered D1 games this year but CBU does I believe and if you add in Chi St not playing.

NMSU has GCU UVU SU UTRGV = 8 D1 games, 10 if CBU is considered full D1 now

If NMSU continues this trend or if any of the grouping of GCU UVU SU UTRGV has to shutdown for CV19 on their Aggie week, NMSU could be toast.

WACT is only 3 games max so NMSU would need to have 1o to 12 games under their belt before entering the tournament.

They sure did. Unfortunately, they’re not in the conference anymore and NMSU has made it 7 of the last 8 tournaments, excluding last season. So yeah, it would be nice for someone else to take it. Obviously NMSU has some players violating protocols and if they haven’t gotten it by now, doubt they will.

There’s seriously a minimum number of games required to play to make the postseason? Is that a regular rule or just for this year? I don’t know about you guys, but my interest in sports this year is less than half of what it normally is. Maybe it’ll pick up if there are some games consistently played.

I don't know that I would leap to that conclusion. We played CSUN, who had a positive right after the game, and whomever contracted the virus (we don't know if it is a coach, or player) could have contracted the virus at that point.

GO AGGIES!!!!!

You never cease to amaze. "Obviously NMSU has some players violating protocols"? Really? You know this for a fact? I am questioning why we have had positive cases and why players keep getting hurt. But I think it's disingenuous to say it's obvious that NMSU has some players violating protocols.

What else would it be then? Are they getting it from the facility they’re at?

There is only one way to get it? "Violating protocols" is the only way to get it? Got it...

What % of D1 teams have had multiple stoppages this season? It’s not an issue at every school, must be something different at yours right?

Not the team they played last week that had positives. That's not where they got it.

RE: WAC Play Begins This Week!
Seems unfounded to blame NMSU protocol violations.

First, they lost games up front due to state policy. Then after that if IIRC many of the cancellations were due to the other teams. And finally, unless your protocol is individuals locked 24/7 in medical positive-pressure tents and fed sterilized sealed food trays through an airlock, there is always a non-zero risk and therefore there's the chance of a fully-compliant person getting it through simple bad luck.

Let's just hope they're back by the weekend of the 15th. At least for me, getting an NCAA berth would just not be as satisfying if we got it through better teams forfeiting/defaulting. Not that we wouldn't take it anyway...

UTRGV is going to need NMSU GCU and like CBU to quit on the season before UTRGV gets to go bubble dancing... 03-wink

I'm assuming GCU would also like the satisfaction of beating NMSU on the way to that 14th seed. Which would probably be a 15th if your record didn't include beating NMSU.

RE: WAC Play Begins This Week!
Anyone this year from the WAC is getting a 15 or lower seed. Yes GCU would love to beat NMSU on their way to the Indiana bubble but I wouldn't discount winning the WAC for anyone just because NMSU has be struggling on figuring out how to live covid free. NMSU has 1 D1 game under their belt and we will be in our 2nd week of January before they possibly can get to their 2nd D1 game... Again I won't fault anyone who wins the WAC if it isn't NMSU, mainly b/c the other WAC schools have done a better job at keeping Covid at bay. I want NMSU along with the rest of the WAC to be safe and healthy while hooping but NMSU seems to be struggling for whatever the reason but I hope they figure it out soon or they won't have enough games to qualify to postseason.
