Sigh...................

They just seemed to be making some real progress the last couple of games. Better safe than sorry though. Ben Chafin, local southwest Virginia attorney, banker and state senator just passed away from Covid at age 60. We're not over the worst of it yet.

Also Steve Banner who probably coached the best baseball teams to ever take the field in Virginia...passed away from Covid.

It’s going to be like this all season I am afraid. Start stop start stop repeat. Again I am looking at this season as a mulligan. Let’s try to get as many games in as possible and hopefully most everyone will be back next season if they choose.

So any idea as to how these games are made up? 3 games a week?

Also except football to be much of the same.

Another idle, spurious thought.........................wonder if Sloan's "conduct detrimental to the team" was breaking COVID protocol somehow? I have zero info; just a wondering.

A possibility for sure. And maybe the reason for Coach asking him to apologize.....

Well he would NOT be the player who tested positive because he was on the bench and played the next game. Maybe look for a player who didn't play, didn't get talked about why he was missing if you just have to speculate.

Idle, spurious thought, I wonder if Sloan robbed a bank? that would be pretty detrimental to the team but I have zero info, just wondering.

Good gracious, Rod. No, he would not be the player who tested positive. Do we even know it was a player? Not to my knowledge. But that doesn't negate my point/thought at all. He could have broken protocol, gotten negatively tested, and after apologizing, was welcomed back. That may well have had *nothing* to do with whoever tested positive, and be a totally different set of circumstances. In fact, it probably was. My point *only* had to do with a possible theory of Sloan's offense - not that it resulted in someone catching the virus.

I suppose he could have robbed a bank, but that's not all that likely, I'm thinking. Bad-mouthed his grandmother? Was caught eating M&Ms? Forgot Shay's birthday? Told someone outside the program what Ladarrius likes for breakfast? We may never know; but it's at least as likely as not it didn't directly cause whoever to test positive. But nor did my "spurious thought" intimate any such connection.

Careful, you'll be the next one on the ''you'll never get to hang out with Rod list.'' I'm on it and can't express the major impact it's had on my life. 03-yawn

WTF are you talking about? This is the first I have ever heard about this list. Sounds like a good idea though, If I make one I will be sure and put you at the top since it was your idea.

Actually you will have to be second. the former leader of the Funky Bunch has to be at the top.

I am not a former doctor of anything but I would hope ETSU would treat a possible breach with something more than you get to come to the game, be with the team but you don't play.
Yeah people can speculate all they want, First guesses were team chemistry now COVID.

Doc is making lazy guesses and kind of attacking the young man's character with ZERO and I repeat ZERO proof (as he admits) but somehow I am the ******* for saying that isn't cool?
Okay.

All of you are invited to my outdoor, socially distanced, January pool party. We will be playing water basketball. No sharing towels.

Okay.

I was not "attacking his character" (other than throwing the grandmother angle, maybe). We already know he did something that was "wrong". But hey, everybody makes mistakes, and apparently he knew it and took the blame. NOT TO MENTION...........if by some chance he *did* break protocol, that's a way to negatively impact "team chemistry", as it would have been a selfish action.

This is a discussion board, Rod, and we've been ALL over the map here in terms of rumors, allegations, accusations, etc. What I aimlessly speculated is WAY WAY WAY milder than a lot of what's been on this board. And I don't shirk from it. Strictly idle speculation, as I labeled it. And I think in these times, it's ok to wonder such things. In NO WAY is that attacking anybody's character. However............I earlier attacked Shay's for what he did to Corley, and I stand by that one, too.
